They've been the most outstanding team so far, better than Argentina.
People want Argentina to win only because of Messi, and the bragging rights that comes with it.

Too much cheating for Argentina

He has won it before and this one is obviously being rigged for him
Apart from having the easiest group and path to semifinal, there have been clear cases of favoritism towards Argentina

From the first game in the group matches… they have been using all sorts of tricks and favoritism…

The only match that the officiating was a little bit fair was their last match against Switzerland..

Other than that, the others were terrible…
Awarding them free kicks at every slight touch… Messi must not cough, he gets a free kick very close to goal..
Then using VAR to cancel the goals of others for the same offense they did and the goal wasn’t cancelled…
A slight touch is a penalty and they will do same offense but the opponents won’t get anything

If you are a hardcore Messi fan and you think Messi and Argentina haven’t been cheating, then you aren’t fair

Sorry, I skimmed through the writeup.

Same too, every country Argentina played is a piece of cake for France.

We also can't deny the fact that Argentina has enjoyed some favoritism by the refs in this competition.
They've also had no worthy opponent until this semis.
This is a defining point for Messi, if he truly deserves it more or not.

Aside from Spain, who faced Portugal, I don't think any of the other three semi finalists have faced any so called 'real team'. So it isn't just Argentina.

Of the four semi finalists, Messi and Mbappe deserve it the most based on their contributions so far. Then you have Bellingham and possibly Kane in the next cadre.

If they struggle then it should be a loss. You can't take away a win because the match went into extra time. Teams have gone the same path and lost out.
Argentina deserves their place in the tournament and if they win then it's earned.
