CLOUDRepublic:
Lagos is a mega city, it would have been much easier if the society has a good refuse disposal culture.
Also maybe the best thing is to hire more work force, but that will of course translate into more payment for refuse disposal.
We actually pay for refuse disposal and they don't come to pick it up.

What most landlords do now in Lagos is that tbey build utility bills into total package for house rents. If your PSP bill is let's say 3k per month for 2 bedroom flat, u will be made to pay 36,000 ( 3k x 12) as part of utility bills when u are renewing Ur rent for the year.

The landlord pays the 36k to PSP as Ur annual PSP bill instead of chasing after u every month for payment when LAWMA task force comes calling.

For someone who has made such prepayment, the least u should expect from the PSP operators is to come often to pick your refuse at least once a week like they used to do in the last. But nowadays they won't even come once in 2 months.

That should give u an in-let into what is fuelling the anger of the common man who pays his tax and tries to be as law abiding as possible.

They should get their act together and stop giving excuse of population overgrowth. When they are collecting the money for waste disposal they don't complain the money is too much.

Umahis 26 year old physiotherapist

I can see her qualifications upfront. But at 26 years old, I doubt she has the paper qualification or physiotherapist experience to attend to such an important man's medical needs.

Tinubu Una 😏😏😏

PSP was introduced in Lagos in 1997 before Tinubu became governor. And it was under Fashola's administration that PSP really thrived and most dump sites were evacuated and compactor trucks started going to people's houses, major markets and streets to pick waste.

I still remember vividly under Tinubu's administration in the early 2000's most areas local dump sites where people will dump their waste which could stay there for weeks before it is evacuated. At least I remember going to dump our waste there with my sister on different ocassions.

This Sanwoolu administration is literally taking Lagos back to that Egypt; that's why people are calling Sanwoolu and his commissioner for environment out.🤦‍♂️

Especially oshodi and apapa, I remember environmental sanitation was strict then. We will finish cleaning surrounding and we will carry the refuse to a huge dump site

Exactly! Almost every area had those big refuse dumpster where people go to dump their refuse and the whole place stinks to high heavens. Na people wey dey stay such area dey suffer the stench and how dirty such places always get. You will see scavengers climbing onto the dumpster looking for any relic they can get lucky to find.

It was under Fashola they really phased that system out

Whatever money you think you are saving buying those Chinese brands, you will spend it via maintenance and servicing at their service centers.

Another thing is if you think you are wise and u decide to order the Chinese vehicle from China instead of buying from their dealership store here in Naija, they will refuse to service it for you at their service center. A guy who bought BYD from China made a video of him going to their service center in Lagos willing to pay for servicing and maintenance, they told him point blank that they can't carry out the servicing for him. It is against their policies. The went to different centers, he got the same feedback.

Imagine buying an electric vehicle and struggling to find where to service it even with ur money.

If these bottlenecks are not sorted, people will still run from the Chinese brands in due time.

If you're getting a brand new vehicle, why would the servicing be very difficult? And I'm reading up that they're getting service outlets opened for customers too..

Not really going to be a customer for now because I don't really like it, but at least it's helping our auto market right now... Nigerian dealers shoulders dn come down small sha..

A vehicle being brand new doesn't mean you won't be servicing it regularly na. At least I know people who buy those Elizade Toyota , Coscharis and co take their vehicles to service centers for regular servicing, oil change, and general servicing.

I am saying if u buy BYD from China and you want to service it at BYD service center in Lagos, they won't service it for you. I will try and look for the guy's video and post it here. They told him their company policy only permits them to service BYD vehicles bought from BYD dealership store here in Nigeria, not the ones bought overseas and shipped down here.

If they stick to that policy, be rest assured that the news will spread and Nigerians may likely avoid those brands.

Even the ones bought in their dealership store in naija, the cost of servicing no be beans. I think the service center guy gave an estimated cost in the video sef.
