Congratulations... I'm here waiting for appointment at the german consulate. I applied since 12 of january 2026 for intended marriage. Yet to receive email. It's so frustrating any advice on this pls.

I applied for frv since on Dec 8 2025 pls when should I write my A1 exam because I'm currently studying German and secondly is there any need for my wife to change her surname to mine, cos all her documents carries her father's name

Your wife is presently a student in Germany right? if yes, she does not need to change her name to your last name. Her maiden name should be already in your wedding certificate. You should write the A1 exam a month before or after your interview, depending on how easily you can be able to schedule the exam.

I applied for FRV on 14 February 2024. I had my visa interview on 16 December 2025 and submitted my A1 German certificate on 24 February 2026.
Later, the visa office asked me to send my wife's renewed residence permit, which I sent immediately. Since then, I haven't received any updates or responses.
I have sent several emails to the visa office, but they have not replied. My wife also contacted the Ausländerbehörde, and they responded:
"Unfortunately, I cannot yet tell you anything about your spouse's visa application. This will take a little more time. I ask for your patience a little longer."
Has anyone been in a similar situation? How long did it take before you received an update or a decision?

Were you informed you will undergo verification process during the interview or paid for verification during the interview? If yes, verification takes about 6 months. if not, your spouse has to continue to disturb her case worker at the Ausländeramt.
