One man can build refinery from scratch but A nation with crude oil gold and other valuable resources cannot refurbish the existing refineries. |

HE HAS ALL THE RIGHT. FIRST OFF, HIS REFINERY IS IN A FREE TRADE ZONE, SO HE SELLS AT INTERNATIONAL PRICE IN USD SECONDLY, THE NIGERIAN GOVT SELLS CRUDE OIL TO HIM IN DOLLARS, SO, HE HAS TO SHIFT THE BURDEN TO THE MARKETERS ONCE AND FOR ALL. THERE WILL BE LOSS IN VALUE IN NAIRA IN DAYS TO COME. Dialpad: |

osuofia2:Dangote refinery consumes 650k barrels a day , Nigeria’s crude oil allotment is just 600k so you want fg to give Dangote the whole 600k barrels what of other refineries coming up , this is how you end up encouraging monopoly.

The FG is not sincere about their business deal with Dangote as it concern the best interest of Nigerians. Why allow him to buy from foreign countries? Why not just give Dangote twice the needed crude oil to refine. Afteral, during the subsidy regime they do swap do crude swap with marketers. Why does NNPC now find it hard to do it with Dangote? |

This is what NLC should Nigerians to protest on. Why is NNPC selling crude in dollars in Nigeria for a Nigerian company the provides essential product for Nigerians ? And let's see whether Nigerians will not join the protest. Nigerians were full of excitment when this refinery was under construction. Is this the prospect? |

benardtotti:What is the impact of the smaller refinery? If Dangote stop refining it will affect the economy. Can the smaller refinery affect the economy? NNPC can increase their crude oil extraction to accommodate everyone . Do other OPEC nation starve their local refinery like NNPC is doing? All these points at corruption because there is no accurate research to put a figure to Nigeria's daily fuel consub prion. The FG can compel other foriegn oil Company to connsider local refineries first. Afterall its our crude |

Minjim:Tell the fg to also compel dangote to sell in naira then since you claim they can compel other c9mpanies who used their hard earned capital to drill for oil to supply at a loss , Dangote has a oil well why don't you tell him to start drilling so he can add 20,000 bpd for his refinery. |

emmi14:What party will you vote for if you vote APC out? Why do you think that APC Twitter sympathiser Amupitan and Wike's courts are working overtime to ensure no credible opposition to the reelection of the master strategist, so he can move quickly to a 3rd term agenda for life president? He probably thinks he will succeed for a 3rd term, since he sees himself as smarter than Obasanjo who failed to achieve the objective in 2007, thanks to Atiku's loyalty to the constitution and leadership of other democracy heroes to kill the bill in the NASS despite Ghana must go bags of bribe. iwaeda: |

OredoPikin:Government can't revive those refineries. They've been trying since the Abacha era. Every government since then. Every one of them, Some tried once. Some tried more than once. For a competition for Dangote, we have to wait for Bua and other refineries to come on stream. As for those four, government can sell them as scrap to the Chinese and maybe they can revive them. Still won't justify banning importation by fiat. Let refineries come on stream and let the sector run in such a way that importing becomes unprofitable. When that happens, importation will stop. |
