This is a fake story. The church moves people from country to country on international assignments. There is never an expectation of it being permanent. The international assignment opens him up to many more assignments. Something else was happening that they dont want to disclose probably. Maybe he was caught doing something bad abd cant face the shame.

Hmmmm .... looking at his photo ... and being veryyyy familiar with THAT LOOK ... I really believe he was about THAT LIFE... which in Nigeria.. any part of the country ... his life would've really been in danger. Why would.he not have panick attacks? There are hundreds of priests in Nigeria ... in safer areas of the country... couldn't he settle in those areas?... where priests are not killed or kidnapped? The funny thing is if you know these Catholic priests, they get posted everywhere and typically enjoy very high standards of living..... obviously since he has already been posted to America, it was very likely he'd get another foreign posting...but it seems his enjoyment in that particular place was too much and he had seen his heaven already!!!

He worked there for almost 25 years and the diocese could not get him valid papers in all of that time or that he had a criminal record that kept from getting valid papers? This story no add up! 🤔🤔

His fears were not valid. He had no reason whatsoever to take his own life, even though it was his own.

If missionaries did not take the risks many centuries ago to arrive in Africa to spread the goodnews and tell Africans about their own nations, were would the deceased have gone? Early missionaries lost their lives to natives, animals, wars and mosquitoes, yet the persisted. They faced all forms of persecution to set up churches, even in Abakaliki and the entire length and breath of his Ebonyi state. It was not his birthright to reside us America as a Catholic priest. It is the right of the church to post priests to the desired locations.

Or do we want to say that foreign priests posted to Nigeria should reject because there’s persecution of Christians or terror everywhere? The guy took his life as he say the position as his birthright. By the way, who says that he might not have been posted to Europe or any other country?

It is so sad and painful to hear such news. What was he preaching to his members in the same situation?

I think you are probably right.

This is his final comment. He was not crying that he did not want to go back. Even his family is waiting for the autopsy and doubt he killed himself. The fact is, the church hides miscomduct these days and deals with it or settles it internally.

For ICE to order him to also leave, there may be more behind the scenes we dont know. They do that to people who have done something. The problem is, we may not be aware but his whole community and even those in Nigeria will be aware. It will be on his record and they will slowly ease him out or limit his career seriously.
