I have been sleeping and playing games for one week without working here in Nigeria. No crazy pre-authorized bills come off my accounts at month-ends. In the past, I used to have high blood pressure every month ends when I saw money leaving my account. Not even a monthly rent or mortgage. There is a difference between living and existing. I was "existing" abroad, but now living in Nigeria.
You’re now living soft life in Naija with money made abroad and you talk say Japa no good?

Japa good, my brother. It should be to make money abroad, get citizenship, get foreign education, make meaningful connections, start a business or career you can work from home anywhere in the world, and then jejely relocate back to Nigeria and come enjoy everything. Five years of staying abroad should be enough to get all these things in order, and you can always travel back and forth.

What I would not recommend is getting stuck abroad, staying for 10 years or more, and being sucked into the system of bills and paying taxes. It is a very brutal system where everyone walks on eggshells and is not sure of what is going to happen next. You are sure to lose all your kids if not very careful, as they get groomed by harmful Western ideologies. You always have to learn to take the good from every system to find a way to benefit yourself and your family.
Re: Nigerian Caregiver Reportedly Dies Abroad After Working 3 Days Without Sleep (Vi by Shikena(m): 3:25pm On Jul 15
That's a way to look at it but not the only way. Some people simply choose to live very simple life abroad, understand the system and even make good investments abroad. I know several Nigerians with no single credit card, they work just one job, they play football and tennis with other Africans, right inside America,. I even know of a group of Nigerians who were at Spain vs France match in Arlington, Texas yesterday despite the cost, these are about 20 people, all Nigerians and they are regular working class American citizens.

These are personal choices. People even have investment clubs where they learn and invest little but consistently in the US stock market. Nigerians abroad are no longer sticking with the traditional approach of living like a visitor abroad.

They get their citizenship and they learn how to leverage it to their advantage.

That was me too. I played tennis every evening abroad, ate in different restaurants every single day, swam and saunad three times a week, and had memberships in various community groups and clubs. That did not stop the huge bills from getting yanked from my bank account every month. It is over there, you see, rich immigrants who are miserable. I was a banker and saw the account statements of all these people who pretended to be successful and what they had to do to get to where they were at the time.

People in Nigeria are still successful, and we invest too, plus I feel happier here with my kids. It may well be my own personal opinion, but in the end, most immigrants are guaranteed to lose their kids to the system abroad, that i am 100% certain about. That was one of my biggest reasons for japada. It would be totally unfair on my part to have them uprooted from their roots and Africa and put them out there where they have to question their origin and indentities. I do things different than most people.

Thr human body is like a machine. It is meant to work and rest at particular periods of the day. If you overstretch it it will fail on on you.
He body was full of toxins and hasn't been able to get rid of it because he failed to take a nap. Now he will sadly take it eternally.
When you sleep your body undergoes a lot of biological processes, removing toxins and regenerating the cells that keep you alive. If you deprive it from sleeping and doing these things, you are inviting everlasting disaster on yourself.
Now the house he was scrambling for would now be inherited by someone who doesn't know or care about the stress he put himself through to build the house. Such is life.

But why the rush.

I guess it's different strokes for different folks. Like I said, today's immigrants have learned a lot from the challenges of those that migrated before them. One of the beauties of today's world is easy access to information on investment choices and how to avoid huge bills and immune yourself from misery. Many rch folks are also miserable in Nigeria and are indebted to banks.

On losing your kids to the system abroad, it does happen but again there is a new wave of consciousness going on among immigrants and the kids are not left out. I guess, the good side of sharing roots with Tems, Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Anthony Joshua, etc is not lost on the younger generation. They are doing way better than previous 2nd generation immigrants.

Can she survive real grind in Nigeria for 3 days?

There are jobs everywhere in Nigeria but many can't handle the grind. Uneducated hustlers make 3k, 5k, 10k daily in Nigeria while many graduates are begging around. I saw a YouTube documentary on Maroko, an elderly woman said she makes 5k daily profit from her dried fish sales but the hustle is tough.
It's tougher here, money no get value
Re: Nigerian Caregiver Reportedly Dies Abroad After Working 3 Days Without Sleep (Vi by eepeepook: 4:15pm On Jul 15
If somebody has the energy, I see no problem with overworking to make more money. Where our brothers and sisters get it wrong is not strengthening their minds, their bodies and their lack of rest. Somebody will be in his forties and have no idea how many hours his body requires sleep. Somebody will perform three-day physical work benders without an idea what exercise or vacations are. Highway to the afterlife is what such individuals are on.

Nigerians that believe enjoyment is the end-all-be-all. See how your bodies are surrendering in their forties. This is the third story of a forty year old becoming a ghost in under a week. Make una dey. No enter gym. No rest. No quit alcohol to save your future. Make situation wear una like pant.

Honestly that is the idea for those who value life.
All my plans is to relocate one day, in my sixty, to retire and live a quiet life and enjoy the end of life in a sane environment, not to work and make money for anyone, not even my children who are almost done with university and are on their own....independently.

The essence of travelling out is to live a good life, not to work and work to get rich to impress your kinsmen and friends, even foes.

They worship money. You see the stress on their bodies, on their faces but they will insist that they are fine killing themselves for money.

Re: Nigerian Caregiver Reportedly Dies Abroad After Working 3 Days Without Sleep (Vi by sheldonbbt: 5:13pm On Jul 15
This is why there are maximum number of hours you can work abroad.

It is pure greed that will make someone work for 3 days without sleep. A shift is suppose to last 8 hours. 3 days x 24 is 72 hours.

Which means, the guy worked 9 days shift in 3 days.

[quote author=EmmyMaestro post=140033351]Nigerian caregiver reportedly dies after working 3 days straight abroad without sleep

A 40-year-old Nigerian caregiver has reportedly died after allegedly working for three consecutive days without sleep while trying to raise enough money to complete a house he was building in Nigeria.

The incident, which surfaced in a viral video shared on social media, has triggered emotional reactions online, with many expressing concern over the pressure some migrant workers face while trying to support their families and finance projects back home.

Colleague reportedly recounts final conversation

According to the narrator in the viral video, a Nigerian colleague who reportedly spoke to police said the deceased had been taking multiple shifts at different care homes without sleeping for three days.

The narrator quoted the colleague as saying:

“Before the shift change, the guy told him that he has been working different shifts, different locations for three days without sleeping.”

He added that the colleague questioned the caregiver about his decision to keep working despite his condition.

“He asked him, ‘Why are you working like this? What is the problem?'”

According to the narration, the caregiver explained that he was trying to earn enough money to complete the house he was building in Nigeria before August.

“He said he has a house that he is building back home that he wants to complete next month, being August. That is the reason why he’s jumping from one shift to another for three days without sleeping.”

Caregiver reportedly refused to leave work

The narrator claimed the caregiver later told his colleague that he was no longer feeling well before the shift ended.

“Before the end of shift change, the guy said that he’s not feeling fine.”

His colleague allegedly advised him to go home and rest.

“He told him, ‘If you’re not okay, go home. You have not slept for three days.'”

However, the caregiver reportedly declined, saying he needed to finish the shift to receive payment.

“He said if he goes home, there’s no way for him to complete the shift and they won’t pay him because of the shift.”

He reportedly collapsed while feeding a client
According to the viral account, the caregiver continued working despite feeling unwell.

The narrator alleged that the man suddenly collapsed while feeding a client.Violence & Abuse

“In the process of trying to feed a client, he gave the client one spoon, second, third spoon. He just slumped and died because he had been working for three days without sleeping.”

Expressing sadness over the incident, the narrator questioned the sacrifices many people make in pursuit of financial goals.

“This guy wanted to complete the house back home by next month. Who is going to complete the house now?”

It’s possible if you register with 2 or 3 care homes or agencies. After you pick 4 or 8 hours shift from agency 1 you also pick another 4, 8 or 10 hours shift in agency 2 if you like you add Uber Eats or a third agency do 4 hours

No company will give you more than 12 hours straight but if you work for several companies you can collect 12 hours straight from 2 or 3 and be switch 12 here 12 there then 12 here than 12 there that’s how they do it

This is a strange news. The name of the person involved or the country where it happened was not mentioned.

The source of the story is even in doubt. The person who wrote it in twitter did a bad job. This is an incredible story.

How could some worked for three days non stop without sleep just because he wanted to complete a house in July. Did he want to carry it to heaven. To me this is foolishness. The man was foolish just like Samson in the Holy Bible who knew that his enemies were around to capture him but yet revealed the secret of his power. It's well.
