Akinlot:Lol. Very funny country. The father has no right to stop the investigation of her death. Absolutely no right. This should be the State against David Umahi. State Law overrule Cultural or Customary law |

Akinlot:I watched this and believe most of the things he said in the video will likely check out. But, I still don't understand some things about this whole case: 1. He says she's a nurse and not a physiotherapist as claimed by some media agencies. He went further to say she's a staff of Dave Umahi University for Medical Sciences but on secondment to Federal Ministry of works. Do things like that happen? I mean someone is a staff of a Teaching hospital in Ebonyi state but somehow gets seconded to Federal Ministry of works in Abuja. How? 2. He claims she regularly visits Turkish Hospital Abuja to receive treatment for whatever medical condition she has and he foots the bills. The last time she was there, he spent N2.2 million as the cost for her treatment. Omo! I don't know of many Ogas that will spend N2.2m on just one staff for a visit at one of the best hospitals in Nigeria, especially if the staff is not related to him by blood. The kind of relationship that must have existed between them for him to be footing that much medical bill on her ehnnnn.... It must have extended beyond she just being a random nurse posted to the ministry. 3. He says the lady as his personal nurse administers medications on him and staff that work with him. Abeg the doctors in the house, are nurses licensed to do that without the supervision/recommendation of a doctor? I was thinking even if the Federal ministry of works requires its own medical personnel, it would be doctors who would take the lead while the nurses only assist them/follow the instructions of the doctors assigned to the ministry/minister. Do we say the Dave Umahi is doing what the average man on the street does which involves going to any nurse who lives close by and collect injection, drip and medications without a doctor's recommendation? |

Ibime:umahi should pull a peter theil and bankroll the habila family to sue sowore , his journalist and sahara reporters, in nigerian and us courts sowore was so desperate to pin something on umahi that he had no qualms about smearing an innocent person as an online runs girl they posted pictures of her in a mortuary and claimed she was found naked in umahis house the naked pictures which are on telegram very likely violate western revenge porn laws |

BlueRayDick:high ranking federal officals usually get govt funded medical attaches of their own personal choice 2. He claims she regularly visits Turkish Hospital Abuja to receive treatment for whatever medical condition she has and he foots the bills. It must have extended beyond she just being a random nurse posted to the ministry.it happens more often thank you think and it is social media that tries to make stories out of it. one of the ogas at the top in my old place paid for the school fees of children who are not his own. all you need is a sowore to come out and say the girls among the childen are the man's side chicks 3. He says the lady as his personal nurse administers medications on him and staff that work with him. Abeg the doctors in the house, are nurses licensed to do that without the supervision/recommendation of a doctor? I was thinking even if the Federal ministry of works requires its own medical personnel, it would be doctors who would take the lead while the nurses only assist them/follow the instructions of the doctors assigned to the ministry/minister.you go to hospital, doctor writes out prescription, nurse administers it. once you have your prescription, you do not have to see the doctor again. if you have money, you have a live in nurse who administer your prescribed medication straight without you going to hospital every other day it is for the real journalists and not the noisemakers to go and confirm if Ms Habila is a practising nurse or not. |

GloriousGbola:The lady was actually found naked in Umahi's country home. What Umahi did was to clarify and put things into context that the house belonged to him but the area the lady slept and was found was the staff quarters part of the house. According to the lady's friend , when they knocked and called her and were met with silence; they broke the door and found her naked on the floor of the room unconscious. I agree that Sahara reporters and other media outlet that initially broke the news were sensational about the whole thing. They probably have an axe to grind with Umahi and it's unfortunate the lady's demise is chance they are trying to use to get at him. But if u watch the video, the way Umahi too was boasting "I am David, I am never afraid of battle and I've not lost any battle before", you will see why his "enemies" too don't mind throwing anything at him to see what sticks. Nigeria is just a country where we don't respect human dignity either alive or dead. Normally those Mortuary people who allowed media guys to take picture of the lady's corpse actually should be sanctioned. I know some low level mortuary attendant would've granted them access with just few thousands of naira squeezed into their palms. |

BlueRayDick:from the very first i did not believe the story because the very first post on SR was disjointed, repetitive and basically a filler article they did not have any concrete information and just wanted to pin the death on umahi without any concern about how they destroyed the reputation of the deceased after splashing her naked pictures - they put out the physiotherapist angle and the sultry pictures. they knew EXACTLY what they were doing sell the story as a runs girl who died servicing dave umahi. and now this is how mary habila will be remembered to most people - as a runs girl who died under a man old enough to be her father this is who sowore really is and he will smear and defame any one of us here in his bid to implicate a politician. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:07am On Jul 17 |
GloriousGbola:I understand if he has a doctor attached to him, but a nurse? What can a nurse do without a doctor attached to him? Ideally a nurse cannot do independent prescription of medications, a nurse cannot do independent diagnosis, can't perform any major medical procedures , and can't give you treatment without a medical doctor's orders. So why does he really need a nurse and not a doctor? it happens more often thank you think and it is social media that tries to make stories out of it. one of the ogas at the top in my old place paid for the school fees of children who are not his own. all you need is a sowore to come out and say the girls among the childen are the man's side chicksHow are you comparing paying school fees as act of charity to footing the medical bill of your staff who has a condition that warrants her to go to hospital often? The truth is most Ogas can do a one-off payment of your medical bill if such situation arises, but that you will be using one of the best hospitals in Abuja and ur oga will be paying anytime you go for medication? It is far fetched abeg. How much is her annual salary that her oga is paying N2.2m on her behalf for just a visit to the hopsital ? you go to hospital, doctor writes out prescription, nurse administers it. once you have your prescription, you do not have to see the doctor again. if you have money, you have a live in nurse who administer your prescribed medication straight without you going to hospital every other dayThese are the issues! What you described here is what a random low income/middle income earner would do; not what someone as financially stable as Umahi would do. The same Umahi that can afford to pay N2.2m for medical bill of a staff will go to the hospital , collect medication and continue to use it with the help of a nurse without going back to the hospital to check his health status again? You think people like him will gamble with their health like that ? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 9:15am On Jul 17 |
BlueRayDick:it is not an independent prescription you go to reddington. they tell you come every two days for injection you say i have a nurse at home who will administer the prescription that is all that has happened here How are you comparing paying school fees as act of charity to footing the medical bill of your staff who has a condition that warrants her to go to hospital often? The truth is most Ogas can do a one-off payment of your medical bill if such situation arises, but that you will be using one of the best hospitals in Abuja and ur oga will be paying anytime you go for medication? It is far fetched abeg.umahi was a governor. he is the federal minister of works for nigeria. 2.2 million naira is not material to him at this point in time. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:16am On Jul 17 |
GloriousGbola:There's no smoke without fire. Do u think Sahara reporters or any other media agency that reported the news invented the story out of thin air? People living right within Umahi's staff quarters must have supplied them with some of the details that got the story going. Don't be surprised if it is one of the staff who noticed the lady's closeness to Umahi without understanding their deal must have suggested to the media guys that she was most likely his girlfriend. It's usually people close to scene of some of these incidents that leak info like this. When they see how the man spends on her , how she gets to travel from Abuja to Ebonyi regularly flying with him(which he actually confirmed in the video); it's not really hard for them to piece one and two together and sell the story to Sahara reporters. Let's not forget the other lady that came out to call Umahi out for owing her for his campaign souvenir contracts back then, she made mention of Umahi making advances at her along the line. If Sahara mix all of these together, they have enough missile in their arsenal to launch at him and that's what they did. |

GloriousGbola:A typical Nigerian politician who doesn't trust Nigerian doctors enough that he flies abroad for treatment will suddenly allow a 26 year old nurse to be "chooking" him injection at home anyhow? I bow for u o ![]() umahi was a governor. he is the federal minister of works for nigeria. 2.2 million naira is not material to him at this point in time.N2.2m spent on a random staff is not material to him.....Issokay! ![]() |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:25am On Jul 17 |
GloriousGbola:I honestly don't believe Sahara's story , neither do I believe Umahi's account of the story. She may most likely have died of natural causes or whatever medical condition she has......But I also believe a 26 year old nurse didn't just miraculously find herself seconded to the ministry of works where she works with the best boss that flies her around, foot her medical bills and took her as a "daughter". There's certainly a deeper connection to their relationship we may never really know anyways. |

joseph1832:definitely nigerian police are predatory opportunists and the first thing is to arrest you until someone drops money to bail you we had a guy whose worker died in a tank on site. the boy had no reason to be there. he was not scheduled to be there. the boy came to work on the tank and the people who saw him chased him away. later they found him dead in the tank. first thing police did was arrest his boss and hold him until we dropped 300k for them. unfortunately everyday people are dying during sex romp [due to drug abuse] and the first thing our police do is hold the survivor when all you are supposed to do is take their details . someone is already traumatized and the police are now adding arrest this is how a guy i knew had a stroke while knacking os and the os simply abandoned him - because all that would happen if he died is she would be held by police, if not also used by them. |

Gloriousgbola, it seems the nurse arrived the night before her passing, not livng there for 3 years as asserted From Chukwudi Iwuchukwu Mary Habila, known as Mara Wisdom on Facebook, was never a practicing physiotherapist but rather a nurse. The Physiotherapist Association of Nigeria has come out to deny that she was a practicing physiotherapist and their member. She was never one as David Umahi is attributing her to be but rather a nurse. Also, she had never lived in Abuja; rather, she was from southern Kaduna. She lived and worked in Kaduna until her passing in Umahi's country home in Uburu, Ebonyi State. Sahara Reporters, in their own version of the story, claimed that she arrived in Uburu, one night before her fatal passing, from Kaduna, where she lived and worked. From the look of things, it seems their version of the story is correct. I don’t know why our professor of road construction is doing this. Playing politics with the soul of a young girl who trusted him to come to her village country home in Ebony State, all the way from Kaduna, where she lived with her loved ones. It is well. |
