They are rather running to town celebrating policies like subsidy removal, naira floatation, taxation, hike in WAEC fees, and calling it "bold reforms." Meanwhile, the lived realities of ordinary Nigerians is saying the opposite. |

Emir Sanusi is addressing the wrong audience. The so called government derives joy in perpetuating poverty. They go as far as stifling struggling and hardworking people with all manner of taxes. Assuming the Emir was up to date on events, he would recall that a member of the inner circle (Remi) passed the primary responsibility of the government to the likes of burna boy and wizkid. |

I thought Sanusi Lamido Sanusi already did that when he was CBN Governor, so there no poverty again nah. |

The only policy that can remove poverty is policies that are geared towards making Nigeria a nation whose economy is dependent on manufacturing and the export of manufactured goods and services. THis would in the long run bring in far more money than oil ever would. That means hard choices like fighting corruption, cost reflective tarrifs for power and water supply, loans for small and medium scale manufacturers of indusdtrial components, very generous tax breaks to people willing to set up industries in nigeria, and loans from the BoI on generous terms for such people, and then we got to realize that subsides harm rather than improve people's welfare. Anything else is just waste of money and raising of debt. |

Tinubu government is a total failure. The fg should not charge fees on some imported items. Port handling charges inclusive 💯 |

If Kano has revenue up to Lagos, poverty will drastically drop in the state because they will employ more, support start ups and established companies and also build infrastructure Outside collecting VAT and CIT that it has right over and sending the portion of the states and local governments to them, there is not much else the federal government can do but other government tiers still have a lot they can do that they have refused to do |

“Economic policies should be assessed based on their impact on the welfare of citizens. Any economic policy that does not improve the welfare of the people is inherently ineffective.” |

simpleseyi:You are right that he did that as CBN governor, a post he left some 12 years ago. Since then Jagaban of Borgu begged his fellow northerner Buhari to end 16 years of PDP prosperity, peace and stability with cheap petrol, cheap dollars, low debt burden etc. Why do you think that the master strategist of Nigerian politics did that in 2015, fur years after calling Buhari expired ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5Tta19OYEE?si=HknaDB2bw8FaAD3r anonimi:

Emir Sanusi seems not to follow Tinubu's poverty alleviation scheme. The government just launched AKARA and AGBADO BUSINESS SCHEME for Nigeria women. That alone can make over 50 million Nigeria women millionaire by end of 2027. |

Tinubu doesn’t believe in alleviating poverty. He rather prefers the stock market booms so his few rich friends can make more money. Someone that put Lagos state at 69% poverty rate as governor cannot bring Nigerians out of poverty. They said frying Akara and kuli kuli will give them the $1trn economy they’re looking for. |

AMINDA:Park Somewhere Else, Mr Man! Your Sanusi that came and destroyed the Southern Banks -when he brought down the Intercontinental Bank, Union Bank and Others - Under Flimsy Excuses ' that the CEOs are eroding the Shareholders Funds' bla, bla, bla, but these excuses -have now been debunked by Financial Experts, who have Picked so much holes-in his Operating Modalities. Since Sanusi left, are there No Banks Failure - without throwing away the Baby and the Water ? Sanusi actions caused Millions Employees -to lose their Jobs, without caring,so what is he Preaching now, when he was doing exactly the same when he was in Power then? Sanusi claimed he would write his book on Why he did those things but NIGERIANS have been waiting in vain for him! He Awarded NBillions to Universities -in the North -as a CBN Governor because he loves Power and Limelights All the time ! He should count himself lucky because those who were in National Assembly then, who ought to have checked him through Oversight Functions -were looking elsewhere then! Sanusi should Rest and leave the Politicians Alone, for he couldn't perform better when he was at CBN! If he wants to be a Politician - he should drop his toga and come to the Political Arena, instead of using traditional stool for Political Agenda. |

Individual nations should design special metrics to determine by themselves who is poor in their domains I live within the Ilesa metropolis, specifically in Ijebu jesa. I have not spent up to 800 dollars per annum since 2022 and this is 2026. Maybe not up to 700 dollars and the only expense I don't really have is daily transportation expenses. I have not earned any income from work since 2022 when I had to leave my job for the umpteenth time because of attacks from my adversaries. I get whatever money I need when I need it from my sisters while waiting for the conclusion of the assault against me started by my adversaries twenty six years ago. Nations have been classified as high income, middle income and low income while there are also sub divisions and their classification would put me as an individual below low income and hence poor. Well, I do not pay rent but even if I pay, it would not bring my total to be in excess of 800 dollars per annum as a single person I have access to pipe borne water, electricity and I can afford to eat anything I want as I cook by myself. I have internet access and good clothing. I live in a big house alone. Not only myself too. My neighbor to the left is in the same category. He is living in his own house with pipe borne bore hole water, his wife is a trader in the Ijebu jesa CBD while he himself is a former headmaster. He has two children in the university and he can not be more than fifteen years older than myself. He has a big car. My neighbor to the front died two years ago and his children came home to bury him well. He had a car that worked until he died but the kids didn't sell it to bury him. The car is still there today. They slaughtered two cows and fed people for at least three days to bury him. His house is old, so it does not have internal plumbing but it has its own borehole too To the right is a family with their own solid house and teenage children. The husband is a transporter while the wife is a trader at the Ijebu jesa CBD. Behind me is a nicely finished small estate of four flats owned by a man that was my Mum's colleague at work. The tenants are doing well and are able to pay the expensive rent. There is a house owned by an old couple to the right. The husband retired as a fire officer of Osun state. The house isn't well finished but they are not complaining. They however have added a small shop to the building recently for the wife who is a petty trader. I look around me and I can not find one example of the poor people that Nigeria is supposedly full off. All my sisters in the country live in their own fully paid for homes. In conclusion, individual countries should design metrics with which to determine who is poor within their borders just like China did. They should not rely on the UN metrics that has gained traction. It must be noted that you can be financially well off but yet with a low HDI if you are not educated and such a person can't be classified as poor realistically. They have low HDI but they are not poor. |

simpleseyi:You don't know that Tinubu has erased all the growth the previous administrations made on Human Development Index Reason why he has single handedly pushed almost 80% of the entire population into abject poverty. |

Omooba77:The day God created better brain Nigerans weren't there. I'm sure real humans were created earlier in the day while Nigerians were created very late at night when God was yawning and tired. Sanusi addressed this message to (Nigerian leaders) but the muguns are shouting Tinubu. 774 LGA Chairmen - free from accountability. Thirty six State Governors? Who send them? Local Governments across Nigeria received over #10 Trillion from the federation Account in two years but nobody wants to know what they have done with it. |

That's not what he's saying. You need to understand Economics well before talking anyhow. Try get that Increasing SSCE price and other stuffs you're raising does not necessarily increase poverty. The Emir emphasized that government should implement policies that increases citizens welfare and reduce poverty through inclusive growth, alongside other policy mechanisms. Rising poverty has nothing to do with Increasing SSCE price as long as Inclusive growth is in place, OK ? AMINDA: |
