Have you ever been so busy trying to make a living that you forgot the very One who gives life?

How many of us wake up thinking about business before Fajr? How many check our phones before remembering Allah? How many spend hours chasing wealth but struggle to spend a few minutes with the Qur'an? We say we are doing it for our families. But could the very blessings Allah gave us become the reason we drift away from Him?

Allah gives us a powerful warning:

"O you who believe! Let not your wealth or your children distract you from the remembrance of Allah. Whoever does that—then they are the true losers." (Qur'an 63:9)

Notice that Allah did not say wealth is evil. He did not say children are a curse. Both are among His greatest blessings. The danger is when those blessings occupy our hearts so completely that there is no room left for the One who blessed us with them.

What is the value of becoming rich if our salah is neglected? What is the benefit of building houses while our hearts are in ruins? What have we truly gained if we leave behind a large inheritance but arrive before Allah bankrupt in good deeds?

Many people work from dawn until night. There is nothing wrong with working hard. Islam encourages earning a lawful livelihood. But when business makes us miss our prayers, when the pursuit of wealth leaves no time for the Qur'an, when our children become more important to us than pleasing Allah, then we must ask ourselves: Who is really in control of our hearts?

The greatest loss is not losing money. It is losing our relationship with Allah. Money can be earned again. Businesses can recover. Children will one day become independent. But if we lose our connection with Allah, what will remain when we stand before Him alone?

Let your wealth serve your religion, not replace it. Raise your children to remember Allah, not merely to succeed in this world. Keep your tongue moist with dhikr, your heart attached to the Qur'an, and your feet firm in the prayer, no matter how busy life becomes.

May Allah bless our wealth without allowing it to distract us, make our children a source of goodness in this world and the Hereafter, keep our hearts constantly engaged in His remembrance, and make us among the successful, not the losers. Āmīn.

I left Allah because I found peace in practicing personal and indigenous spirituality. Am from a black race , am not an Arab, there is nothing like Allah in my ethnic mythology. In my ethnic mythology Almighty God is not the same as Allah.

It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar ('Abdullah b. 'Umar) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed:

Verily Islam started as something strange and it would again revert (to its old position) of being strange just as it started, and it would recede between the two mosques just as the serpent crawls back into its hole.
وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الأَعْرَجُ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعُمَرِيُّ - عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ الإِسْلاَمَ بَدَأَ غَرِيبًا وَسَيَعُودُ غَرِيبًا كَمَا بَدَأَ وَهُوَ يَأْرِزُ بَيْنَ الْمَسْجِدَيْنِ كَمَا تَأْرِزُ الْحَيَّةُ فِي جُحْرِهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏
