Everyone checks the baby after birth. No one checks the mother for injuries. Childbirth is not just pain. For many mothers, it is an injury. Your perineum can tear. Your pelvic floor can weaken. Your back can ache for months where the epidural went in. Your wrist can throb from holding your baby — they even call it “mother’s thumb.” Your nipples can crack and bleed. And the biggest injury is invisible — the wound the size of a dinner plate inside your uterus where the placenta detached. You bleed for six weeks because you are healing from the inside out. We call it “recovery” but it is really “wound healing” while you are awake all night keeping another human alive. If you just gave birth and you feel broken, sore, leaking, or not like yourself — you are not weak. You are injured and healing at the same time. Rest is not laziness. Asking for help is not complaining. You just did one of the hardest physical events a human body can do. Give yourself the same grace you give your newborn. If you're a mother reply in the comments section.

I know the detachment of the placenta causes bleeding, never knew it leaves behind such a huge wound. The pains that come with uterus shrinkage is another story entirely😩. Childbirth is not a walk in the park no matter how easy some women make it look. Wishing all expectant mums safe delivery and recovery afterwards. |

Yet most Nigerian women will never use their wisdom and give birth to one or two and rest, instead they will be luring their husbands into impregnating them in the name of trying to outbirth their friends, sisters, neighbors and colleagues as if it's a trophy. It may have been trophy many decades ago but not today. Don't birth more than 3 kids at most no matter the pressure from your husband. If he wants more let him carry it, men can now carry pregnancy, ask ![]() ![]() |

Hezmatosky210:Women are masochists by nature. They love that suffering and soon want to get pregnant again! That's why a woman will ironically love someone who gives her pain one-way or another |

As a mom, this brought tears to my eyes because it's so true. ❤️ Everyone celebrated my baby, but very few people asked how I was doing. The sleepless nights, the pain, the bleeding, the emotional rollercoaster—it wasn't something I was prepared for. To every new mom reading this: please be patient with yourself. Healing takes time, and it's okay to ask for help. You don't have to be "back to normal" overnight. Motherhood is beautiful, but postpartum recovery is real. Sending love and strength to every mama out there. You're doing better than you think. 🤍 |

EMMACHI1:My wife has had issues with her coccyx (tailbone) since the birth of our first child. It shifted during delivery, and ever since then, she has lived with recurring pain. After our second child, her tummy has never quite returned to the way it was before pregnancy. Every childbirth leaves its own physical and emotional scars. It is a reminder of the incredible sacrifices women make to bring life into the world. That is why I always make it a point to be in the labour room with my wife. Witnessing what she goes through has given me a much deeper appreciation for her strength, resilience, and the sacrifices mothers make. Women truly go through a lot, and they deserve our love, support, patience, and respect. |

In as much as believe child birth is not a child's play and I give respect to our women, I believe this write up is exaggerated. I'm not saying the write up is entirely false but exaggerated. I have seen women who start knacking 2 weeks after delivery and all or 90% of the write up false. Good health care is important to child deliverry and this story will look more false than true. Respect to our women and mothers. |
