Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas yesterday announced the All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Women Leader Zainab Ibrahim as his running mate for the 2027 governorship poll, dropping Deputy Governor Aminu Alkali.

Speaking at the meeting, Kefas described Ibrahim as a tested party loyalist whose experience in grassroots mobilization and national politics would strengthen the administration’s vision for the state.

He said: “She is a loyal party woman, a bridgebuilder and a tireless voice for the vulnerable. “Our campaign will be built on continuity, security and prosperity, and I am confident that her experience and commitment will complement our development agenda.”

Political observers and party insiders say the choice of Ibrahim is a strategic calculation designed to achieve political balance across the state while expanding the party’s reach among key voter demographics.
