The Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC, Peter Obi, has said that the 2027 general election will be a contest between Nigerians and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Obi made the remark while speaking on the state of the nation and the country’s political future.

He maintained that Nigerians are becoming increasingly concerned about the direction of the country and are eager to see improvements in governance.

The former Anambra State governor also repeated his long-held position on the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

According to him, he remains convinced that he won the election but was denied victory through irregularities in the electoral process.

Speaking in a video that has gained attention on social media, Obi argued that the country’s major challenge is a lack of effective leadership.

He said many of the sacrifices made by citizens over the years have not produced the desired results, adding that Nigeria needs leaders who can inspire confidence and deliver meaningful change.

“You know that I won that election and it was rigged but that is not a problem. It’s my believe that the next election is between Nigerians and the government in office because the public has had enough and they are determined that things have to change.

“We have sacrificed everything and it’s not working. It’s time to understand that one thing is missing, which is leadership.

Nigerians will decide, so they will be the ones to say what is happening and I believe that they have learnt their lessons and they will find a way.

“For me, the desperation is to see Nigeria work. I’m not desperate to be president but I want to create a society where the children of Nigerians will have hope, where a child of a nobody can be anybody without anything. So for me, it’s important and we must make it work because we have had enough.”

Obi further stated that the power to determine the country’s political future rests with the electorate. He expressed confidence that Nigerians have become more politically aware and will make decisions they believe are in the best interest of the nation when the next election cycle arrives.

The former governor has consistently called for reforms aimed at improving governance, strengthening institutions and addressing economic challenges facing the country.

He has also maintained that Nigeria’s development depends largely on accountable leadership and policies that prioritise the welfare of citizens.

If only he had been given the opportunity to govern a state in Nigeria before, we would have seen how effective leadership looks like.

If only he had governed Anambra before, effective leadership would have turned that place to Dubai of Nigeria.

Peter should know over 200 million Nigerians support the administration of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR)

Election is not war but constitutional exercise. Very few is against this administration and same account for 80% of illiterates in the country.
