He is a very good striker in all departments except for pace. Age is catching up and this showed in this tournament despite his goals.

To get Kane striking you need to work the ball through the midfield with enough bodies supporting. The problem is that against powerful teams where you cannot easily break through the midfield and where you have to use long, raking passes to bypass the middle, Kane becomes ineffectual.

Tuchel should have removed him for this exact forward line particularly after the Argentina equaliser.

That match would not have ended at 2-1 if England had dared to attack Argentina, they would have lost but at least 5.
