Hello House, Good morning Please 🙏 I just got a naija use 2016 honda accord v4, unknowingly, I ignorantly turned the steering to set the Tyre without starting the car.....gbam the wheel locked, ignition did not work again, we have tried everything to start the car to no avail, we have shaken and turned the steering while starting the car for days with no result. In fact the key has breaken from the keyholder/remote while on this process, though we can still manage to use the broken key. I was advised to sought after people that are knowledgeable about Honda Accord not to turned minor issue to bigger issues Kindly assist with a way out. One on how to start the car. Then, how to get spare key. Thank you. |

Gbengee:You’ll need someone to help you check it out, where’s your location sir |

Gbengee:Good morning sir. Vehicle: Honda Accord 2016 (4-Cylinder) Concern: Steering locked after turning the wheel with engine off, ignition no longer turns properly, key has now separated from the remote housing during attempts to unlock it. First of all, don’t panic yet. From your description, this does not immediately sound like an engine, transmission, or major electrical failure. Let’s address this properly before anyone starts dismantling the steering column or replacing expensive components unnecessarily. * What Most Likely Happened On most Honda vehicles, including the 2016 Accord, the steering wheel and ignition lock system are designed as an anti-theft feature. When the engine is off and the steering wheel is turned, the steering lock can engage. Normally: • The steering becomes locked. • The ignition key may become difficult to turn. • The wheel remains stuck in one direction. This by itself is usually normal. However, your case has become more complicated because: • Multiple attempts have been made. • The key has now broken away from the remote housing. • The vehicle has remained stuck for several days. * Important Observation You mentioned: “We have shaken and turned the steering while starting for days.” At this point, we need to determine whether the issue is still a simple steering lock condition or if another component has now been affected. Possible issues include: • Steering lock tension only • Worn ignition cylinder • Damaged key blade • Faulty ignition switch assembly • Immobilizer recognition issue • Steering lock mechanism fault * What Should Be Checked First 1, Verify the Condition of the Key Since the key has separated from the remote housing: Check whether: • The metal key blade is bent. • The key blade is cracked. • The transponder chip inside the remote housing is still present. This is extremely important. Many Honda keys contain an immobilizer chip. If the chip is missing or damaged: • The key may turn. • The engine may not start. • The immobilizer system may block operation. 2, Check Whether the Ignition Actually Turns There is a difference between: • Key will not turn at all and • Key turns but vehicle will not start. This distinction helps narrow the diagnosis significantly. 3, Inspect Steering Lock Mechanism Sometimes excessive pressure on the steering lock can make ignition release difficult. A professional inspection can determine whether: • The lock is simply loaded under tension • The steering lock assembly has failed 4, Scan for Immobilizer Faults Because this is a 2016 Accord, electronic security systems must also be considered. A computerized scan can reveal: • Immobilizer faults • Key recognition issues • Steering lock communication faults * Do NOT Do This • Do NOT force the key with pliers. • Do NOT spray random lubricants into the ignition. • Do NOT hammer the steering column. • Do NOT allow anyone to bypass the immobilizer system. What starts as a simple steering lock issue can become an expensive steering column or ignition replacement if handled improperly. * Professional Insight Based on your explanation, there is a good chance the original issue started as a normal steering lock engagement. However, after several days of attempts and the key breaking from its housing, I would want the ignition lock cylinder, steering lock assembly, and immobilizer system checked before making further attempts. The broken key situation is now just as important as the steering lock itself. * Regarding the Spare Key A proper spare key should be: • Cut correctly for the vehicle • Programmed to the immobilizer system • Tested for full functionality Avoid ordinary key duplication without immobilizer programming, as the vehicle may not recognize the new key. * Ryan Automotive Limited Recommendation The next step should be a structured diagnosis, beginning with: • Physical inspection of the key and ignition cylinder • Steering lock system assessment • Immobilizer system scan • Computerized diagnostic scanning • Verification of key recognition and ignition operation At Ryan Automotive Limited, we would first determine whether this is a mechanical steering lock issue, an ignition cylinder problem, or an immobilizer-related fault before recommending any repairs. If you are within Lagos or can bring the vehicle down, Ryan Automotive Limited can carry out a professional assessment and guide you on the most cost-effective solution, including proper key replacement and programming if required. Even if you’re coming from outside Lagos, we attend to vehicles from different locations and would be glad to assist. Precision • Transparency • Excellence |

Guys I have a huge problem with my car. That might lead me to selling the car. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by otiztech: 2:26pm On Jul 16 |
Good day, guys. I had an accident last month caused by brake failure, which forced my 2006 Honda Civic off the road and into a swamp. I had to use a tow truck to tow the vehicle. Fortunately, water did not enter the engine, but a small amount found its way into the transmission. (Which was completely drained ) and replaced with a new oil, and everything was reassembled. The car returned to its normal performance. ( Engine and gear perfect) However, recently I tried to start it one morning and noticed that the green key (immobilizer) symbol on the dashboard was blinking continuously. I called a friend who scanned the car. He said the ECU (brain box) was communicating properly with the scanner and appeared to be working fine. However, the scan indicated fault codes related to the driver's side under-dash fuse box and the immobilizer system. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what could be causing this issue? I would appreciate any advice on how to resolve it. Thanks |

rapheal5:Buy radiator for your exact car. Go for new one if you are not using thermostat. If you are using thermostat buy tokumbo. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Abbeyismo(m): 9:06am On Jul 18 |
Dwarfgod:Ohhhh new radiator can't work with thermostat? |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Dwarfgod: 9:27am On Jul 18 |
Abbeyismo:They are fake! Can't withstand radiator psi before the thermostat opens up. Also, they can't handle the contraction when it cools down. They mostly leak from the bottom plastics or top plastics... Lastly, the fins are large that they can't trap air adequately for effective cooling which can make your engine to run hotter especially if you don't use coolant. |

Dwarfgod:So how does he 100% identify this original DW1? Even our late chief Mecho and HondaJosh couldn't come to an agreement on which is original ATF I am not sure that not being in a tin can and costing 28-30k per quart assures of the ATF genuineness |

Good day all. My Honda Accord 07 drivers door does not activate the inner light, and doesn't make beeping sound when you insert the key in ignition. On the dashboard all the other doors show indicator light when open except the drivers door. How can I fix this? Note The switch on the door is ok. |
