They captured the terrorists’ families as leverage. The terrorists knew the game was up and they were surrounded. The terrorists had no choice but to release them. Does he expect the army to storm the place in such circumstances? Do you storm the den when the kidnappers realize they are cornered and have no way out and risk a shootout or do you say to the terrorists we have your relatives, release the victims? Is it that the kidnappers got away? So even when the kidnappers have surrendered until you storm the place for the cameras you have not rescued?

Is this the kind of reasoning they want to govern with?

You begin to wonder if they are not the people fueling the terrorism because they are clearly not happy with good outcomes!

You self get time to dey reply those fools. That is why Atiku is making the same mistake over and over again because he doesn't seem smart or intelligent. From that rescued teacher's narratives, there is nothing contradict initial claim of federal government at all. Our security forces used the best method in the world to avoid direct confrontation with those kidnappers to ensure all of them came out alive. They go after their relatives and contacts to mount pressure on them for their save release. After their released, military force attacked them, which led to 8 arrest and other neutralized.

These guys might know so something about this abduction but are using false claim to justify being witch hunt when FG eventually discover the truth. Honestly ,I keep wondering how any rational being will believe that Tinubu or APC will plan abduction of school children and the teachers in his own region south west to tarnish his image when election is just a few months away.

Cant believe Atiku is this dull or just being mischievous....
1. Were the victims freed by their abductors?
YES
2. Was the freeing a rescue operation? YES
3. Even if government had paid any ransom which should not be ruled out by any right thinking person, is such an action a rescue mission? Definately YES
4. It is possible and very possible that the government actually paid ransom so as to persuade the bandits to release the victims as the most save option to get them out alive
5. The events that occurred after their released by the bandits showed that the government forces subsequently engaged the bandits in gun fight to arrest them which was the plan all along.
6. While would the government have deployed that large number of forces comprising of soldier, police, DSS, Local vigilante if not to engage the bandit in gun fight after removing the victims from the picture.
8. Or u have forgotten that two security forces died and some wounded in the operation, and government is currently attending to their family members. Or the government just kill those security men and injured other security just to paint a picture?
9. Nobody needs to tell u that the government would have definately secured back the ransom paid in the first place. The ransom payment if at all it happened was just a decoy to remove the victims from the battle field.

Which security forces made sacrifices and for what feat? Did you hear about killing or arrest of any of the terrorists by the security forces apart from the sponsored men they brought to the news as culprits? It seems you're not in Nigeria

They accused Gov. Makinde of been irresponsible, now he is calling for independent probe of the kidnap in his state and the government of Tulumbu APC is afraid of independent investigation.

The Nigerian military didn't get close to where this terrorists were staying in the forest they were in another village waiting. The kidnaped children and teachers trecked and walked for hours to meet up with them the military after the terrorists have released them. This is according to this teacher.

A new policy brief has warned that Nigeria’s worsening debt profile and weak revenue generation have pushed the country into a dangerous fiscal position, with the current administration accumulating more debt in two years than Nigeria recorded during its first 55 years after independence.

The report, released by the Alliance for Economic Research and Ethics LTD/GTE, a Nigerian policy think tank, argued that the country’s debt crisis has evolved into a governance and revenue emergency, as debt servicing obligations now exceed the federal government’s retained earnings.

According to the think tank, Nigeria’s public debt rose sharply from N87.38 trillion in June 2023 to N159.28 trillion by the end of 2025, with President Bola Tinubu’s administration accounting for about N65.9 trillion of the increase within its first two years in office.

The organisation in the brief titled: “Nigeria Is Borrowing to Breathe—and the Clock Is Ticking”, noted that Nigeria accumulated only about N12.06 trillion in debt from independence in 1960 up to 2015, meaning the current administration added more than five times that amount in just 24 months.

The report stated that while previous governments also contributed significantly to the country’s rising debt burden, the speed of accumulation under the current administration had intensified concerns over fiscal sustainability.

“President Bola Tinubu’s administration has added a further N65.9 trillion in just two years. To put that in perspective: it took Nigeria’s first 55 years of independence to accumulate N12 trillion in debt. The current administration has added more than five times that amount in 24 months,” it argued.

It recalled that Nigeria briefly became almost debt-free externally after the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo secured an $18 billion Paris Club debt relief package in 2005 and paid $12 billion to extinguish about $30 billion in external obligations.

Since the Nigerian government confirmed that the abducted 38 worshippers in Kwara State and the 24 Kebbi schoolgirls had been freed, many Nigerians have been awaiting updates about the arrest or killing of their abductors.
