Hey guys,

Like many of you, I got completely sick of stock music players loaded with endless pop-up ads and hidden data drains just to play a local MP3 file. So I decided to stop complaining and built my own solution: Lumeno Player.

It’s lightweight, 100% ad-free, and comes with smooth audio visualizers. Since it’s strictly for local files, it won't touch your mobile data in the background.

The first build is now live on Google Play. If you're looking for a completely clean listening experience, please check it out.

Good job OP. What is the long term for this project? Will you sell if huge money is thrown at you or it's just for fun for now? I just want to understand your philosophy first.

This music player is better than than VLC

Can't find it.

If you can study TTPOD and see how their app is, you can modify this one into something better. Let us be able to access individual folders in the phone. Also, make us be able to mark songs individually to play them just like VLC. If you could fix these two features, the app will be good. You can reach out to me to get apk file of TTPOD cuz it's no longer on Playstore. Kudos 👍🏽

This is a very good development, I like music a lot. I used to use Spotify, but I became tired of it.

2. They don't have some songs I like to play
3. Subscription
4. Some of the songs in my system has better audio quality than what they have there

Are you looking at the copywrite side of things? So you dont get sued by some people whose songs you play without their consents and approvals.

Haha, long-term, I just want to keep refining it! My main motivation was actually to make song cover art look better, which is why I built the custom visualizers and skins—and I'll keep adding more.

As for selling it... honestly, I don't think anyone would buy a tool that stays forever ad-free anyway!

Ah, the Equalizer is actually already in the app! 🎛️
Just tap the icon with five vertical bars to the left of the "Previous Song" button on the player screen. You can tweak manual settings or pick presets there—give it a try!

As for Streaming URL: technically it's easy to add, but it might trigger compliance/policy issues with Google Play store reviews. I've noted it down and will research how to handle it safely without risking the app. Thanks for the input! 👊

Haha appreciate you looking out! But legally speaking, Lumeno is just a tool like other local audio player.

It does not host, stream, scrape, cache, or distribute any audio files or metadata. It only plays files that are already saved on your own phone.

So copyright-wise, it's 100% clean and fully legal! 👊

For me, Lumeno is just a clean offline tool. The moment I bloat it with ads or user tracking, it loses the exact reason why I built it in the first place.

Okay. Where are you from and what is your native language?

The audio quality is distorted when you try to reduce the play speed. Please work on that in your next update . Also try and make the thumbnail of the artist playing to be spinning as a CD disc, also add skin for cassette player for the old school among us too. You can add that as part of the skins to chose from. Nice work anyway.
