A slimy politician remains one no matter the synonym deployed under the guise of politeness.
Please see the engagement he had with Rufai and come back here to tell us it was a discussion.
If you do not know why Nigerian politicians go to Chatham House it discloses how so much you still have to know before attempting to discuss Nigerian politics at the level of Presidential elections and candidates!
By saying I don't know, it's my way of expressing disapproval.

"I don't know why you're stubborn, John!" - an example of a speaker expressing disapproval of John's stubborness.

Going to the Chatham House will only be validated if Britain sends its aspiring leaders to Abuja for debates.

Meanwhile, what were you saying about PO's interview with Rufai again?

Worldwide, presidential candidates can have heated discussions with journalists - reference: President Trump.

Why is this a problem sef?

Some people and wisdom are pointing at opposite👆👇. Whether or not you're guilty, at this point in time a sensible person should have piped low considering too many accusing fingers pointing at you for several allegations bothering on deaths and missing people. But his quest to continue their looting spree won't allow him. Come de look for debate.
Same thing with Keyamo, any little thng he don run go to social media just to defend the government and make sure this government continues so they will continue in office for their atrocities, yes atrocities. That one doesn't want to hear APC will leave office, he will craze at the person that utter such words. Of course we know why
Just because you know Peter Obi has nothing upstairs, see all the grammar you are spewing

Majority of Nigerians are poorly educated on what governance entails

Build them road and fine airport if you add rail they are glad

They don’t care about how those projects was funded is it viable ? What’s the fiscal implications of the funding ?

I called it the “ cocoa-house syndrome “ or legacy project syndrome

We are people who see governance as physical infrastructure anything else is irrelevant
This have made the political class to do everything to build legacy physical projects to point to that I built this

Someone was talking about Peter and his money saved that why didn’t he build infrastructure more

I explained what is called delayed gratification

Peter obi left about $350 billion dollars as saving if Willy Obiano did same that’s $700 million dollars say soludo did same that would be $875 million dollars in savings

Say the that money was used to subscribe Nigeria Euro bond at 6.5% yearly that’s $56 million dollars yearly that’s almost 80 billion in sustained guaranteed revenue
Now this 80 billion is what u use to build feel good infrastructure

Any idiot can build infrastructure if money is available even Someone like wike is doing it in Abuja

The real issues in government is making sure funds are available or creating path for future funds to be available without causing fiscal harm to the balance shit

Sure we want good roads ,rails ,bridges and the rest but can we afford it ? This things are not something u borrow money to build because they would never be able to generate enough income to repay the loan that leads to devaluation

Same way you want a Gwagon ,private jets ,house in Ikoyi but if you get a 5 billion naira loan today that you would start paying back in 5 years ,would you buy those things ? Or invest to make profit to be able to repay the loan then buy your dream car and house ?

So in terms of real Governance Peter Obi is the best governor in Nigerian History
Well said. I just learnt one or two from your post.
UNFORTUNATELY tribalism will not allow people to understand everything you just said.

They spend their money before it arrives down here

David Umahi should debate with himself how habila died naked in his house.

Obi has no business with him.

Another entitled, arrogant and overrated Nigerian politician. Umahi, debate Nigerians on how the body of a young woman was found in your home. Stop playing hide and seek because the truth will eventually come out.

Re: Why Peter Obi Avoided Debate With Me — Umahi by RillJ(m): 9:56am
Is Peter Obi contesting the for your position or is he contesting for the same position with you?

Can you set all hypocrisy aside and public call for a debate involving Peter Obi & President Jagaban since they are contesting for the same position?

Prior, I had lots of respect for Umahi but he seems to be on the low to often recently.

I just asked Deepseek to save us the debate time:

Compare Umahi's tenure as Ebonyi governor and Obi's as Anambra governor based on the H e following indices: wealth creation, education, infrastructure, health, democratic credentials, fiscal policy. If you were to make any of them president of Nigeria, who will you choose?

Comparing the tenures of Dave Umahi (Ebonyi, 2015–2023) and Peter Obi (Anambra, 2006–2014) reveals two distinct governance philosophies. Umahi is a developmentalist focused on rapid, visible physical transformation, while Obi is a fiscal conservative who prioritized financial prudence and human capital development.

Here is a breakdown of their records:

Wealth Creation & Economy

· Umahi (Ebonyi): Focused on creating an enabling environment through infrastructure but faced challenges with fiscal health. IGR dropped 78.8% (N11bn to N2.34bn) early on and only recovered by 2020.
· Obi (Anambra): Leveraged Anambra's entrepreneurial base. Invested in a brewery employing ~500 directly. Left office with over $150 million and N36 billion in state savings.

Education

· Umahi (Ebonyi): Invested in new institutions like King David Gifted Academy and the David Nweze Umahi University of Medical Sciences. However, critics claim he inherited a strong system he later mismanaged.
· Obi (Anambra): Reversed decline by returning mission schools to their owners and funding them. Moved the state from 24th to 1st place nationally in WAEC/NECO exams.

Infrastructure

· Umahi (Ebonyi): His flagship achievement. Built/reconstructed over 1,500km of roads using concrete technology. Built flyovers and the Ebonyi Shopping Mall.
· Obi (Anambra): More conservative but substantial. Built over 800km of rural/urban roads and was recognized for constructing extensive road networks.

Health

· Umahi (Ebonyi): Established the David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH) and an ultra-modern Cancer Centre. It has provided free care to over 8,000 vulnerable people.
· Obi (Anambra): Revamped and revitalized the health sector, taking it to "number 1 in the country". Focused on systemic upgrades across the state.

Democratic Credentials

· Umahi (Ebonyi): Criticized for authoritarian tendencies, including banning journalists and detaining a citizen over a Facebook post. Also defected from the PDP to APC mid-tenure.
· Obi (Anambra): Maintained a clean record with no corruption allegations. His governance is widely seen as accountable and transparent.

Fiscal Policy

· Umahi (Ebonyi): Expressed a dislike for borrowing. However, the state’s IGR struggled significantly during his early tenure, suggesting heavy reliance on federal allocations.
· Obi (Anambra): A fiscal hawk who established Nigeria's first sub-national Sovereign Wealth Fund. Famously left office with billions in savings rather than debt.

---

My Choice for President: Peter Obi

If forced to choose, I would select Peter Obi. Here is why:

· Proven Fiscal Discipline: At the national level, where debt is a massive issue, Obi's record of saving and investing is invaluable. His "fiscal hawk" mentality is exactly what Nigeria needs.
· Human Capital Development: His tangible success in moving Anambra's education from 24th to 1st is a model for national transformation.
· Democratic Integrity: His administration was scandal-free and accountable, a non-negotiable quality for rebuilding public trust.
· A Balanced Approach: While Umahi's infrastructure is impressive, it is partly a "top-down" achievement. Obi's more holistic focus on human capital, financial prudence, and systemic reform offers a sustainable blueprint for a diverse and complex nation like Nigeria.

The pressing debate now is about Mary Habila, Hon. Minister.
This is apt. Case closed.

He has so far attended 2 debates and none of you have exposed this so called records of him.

He has gone to podcasts where he had most of his critics as anchors or presenters.

But the Tinubu you support that graduated from a school that was established 5 years later has refused to come for a debate.

The same Tinubu you adore is yet to reply the denial from a company where he claimed to have worked.

Ridiculously Ridiculousness...
If Umahi is looking for those who are two term governors to go on a debate with him on national tv, the list is uncountable and he can go ahead and take on other candidates.

Like PO said, if Umahi wants to go on a debate then let Umahi become a Presidential aspirant first then he can request for such from PO..

Imagine, what someone somewhere is talking about accountability, make him suspend himself from the office of the. Minister, and let him tell the security agencies to investigate the death of that lady whose father is telling the public that he does not want any autopsy....
