I watched the show.
Abati said that the case of drug money forfeiture had been settled by the court but Rufai countered him saying that the court only said that documents relating to the issue were not presented to the court within the stipulated timeframe, so it doesn't mean that the issue of forfeiture has been settled.
Ojy and Rufai then asked Rufai whether or not the issue can still be brought up in court but Rufai was speechless and ashamed of himself.
You will always look stupid while defending nonsense.
You deliberately choose what you want to hear.
Rufai told Abati to answer the question Abi u didn't hear that.

You guys are something else

So he escaped the Almighty US judicial system?

He's not guilty then.
He didn't escape.

His bank account got frozen and the money traced to be proceeds of drug and wire fraud totalling $450,000 was seized by US government, is that not enough implication?

How you guys support evil just because it's Tinubu surprises me oh

because some lunatic talk about an event every election cycle involving Tinubu does not translate to any baggage, just as your delusion is of no relevance or significance.

Until those bringing up the case are cable to scure a conviction na foolishness una de exhibit till then.

Even Obi that was caught red handed looting N250 million monthly from Anambra coffers for 8 years is walking free instead of rotting in jail along with every member of his household.

SixSeven:
The president with so much baggage. I remember when we wanted to make public asset declaration a trend but it died after Buhari's 2015 show.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGsfxLM0Nfk

President Muhammadu Buhari officially submitted his asset declaration forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in May 2019 for his second term, but unlike in 2015, he chose not to publicly release the specific breakdown of his assets. In 2015, he declared ₦30 million ($150,000) in his sole bank account, 5 houses, 2 mud dwellings, an orchard, 270 head of cattle, 25 sheep, 5 horses, and shares in 3 firms.

Public asset declaration was a highly celebrated anti-corruption trend in Nigeria, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) effectively killed its momentum. In 2007, former President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua broke political tradition by publicly releasing a highly detailed list of his assets and net worth. This established a standard that public officers should be transparent to earn citizens' trust. During the 2015 presidential campaign, the APC heavily rode on this trend. Muhammadu Buhari and the APC promised that all their top elected officials would publicly declare their assets to prove their anti-graft stance. Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo initially honoured this by making their asset profiles fully public in September 2015.

Thank you for the response. That is an impressively confident way of avoiding the actual point. Still, everyone has their hobbies. It is always useful when someone provides an example of the very behaviour being discussed. How I wish the Super Eagles moniker wasn't associated with this undecided

So $150,000 was 30,000,000 naira in 2015. That is 200 naira to a dollar. What a mess we are in today, thanks to evil APC and their evil geniuses.

Abati, Rufai Argue On Whether Tinubu's Forfeiture Case Was Settled In 2023
This forfeiture case was fortunately settled many years ago in the United States (way back in 1993 NOT 2023). The forfeiture was exclusively because of a backlog of UNPAID TAXES on some investments (NOT drug trafficking) linked to the now President 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 8 legitimate bank accounts. This is why the bank accounts were unfrozen after payments of some of the taxes was made back in 1993 and the remaining total balance in the 8 bank accounts returned to the then Senator'Bola Tinubu. The younger ones LARGELY ranting here on the Internet don't even know these FACTS... and the older ones who are spinning this around are doing so based out of political opposition, ethnic bigotry, pure ignorance of the past and more.

The resurrection of this same vexatious story is simply a dead case! It's unfortunate that 'Bola Tinubu himself has annoyingly NOT been very firm enough in bringing to justice those who constantly defame him and keep spinning this same old story around every year and every election cycle by saying the forfeiture was for "drug trafficking." It's unfortunately CLEAR that the now President Tinubu and his aides are NOT helping themselves and their political party because this is causing a huge distraction from important governance issues and a bad image (among the largely gullible and impressionable masses for Tinubu) which are being deliberately spun around year after year by political opponents and propagandists.

Even in the year 2002, the then United States Embassy Legal Attache, Michael Bonner CLEARLY affirmed in a widely-circulated official letter which is still online and posted on NL as well (based on a formal request from the then Inspector General of Police on behalf of the Federal Government led by a PDP President Olusegun Obasanjo) that the then Governor 'Bola Tinubu has NEVER been convicted of any crimes (including the so-called drugs trafficking allegations) in the entire history of the United States and based on the FBI's "National Crime Information Center" (NCIC Central Database containing the names of all arrested and convicted criminals in United States' history) and the now President 'Bola Tinubu has NEVER been INDICTED or CONVICTED of ANY crimes on American soil.

The NL link to the attached official document exonerating the now President 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu of any criminal offence in the United States directly from the United States Embassy Legal Attache Michael Bonner is right BELOW:

I didn't even pay attention to that part but it's just about 10 years ago

That $150,000 (worth ₦30,000,000 in 2015) is equivalent to about $212,000 today based on US inflation, which would equal roughly ₦290 million at today's official exchange rate of ~₦1,370 per dollar

Oppositions should campaign to win the election instead of expecting the eventual winner to be disqualified.

That's not gonna happen.

The case is settled at the Supreme Court.
4 things from my little knowledge of the Law.

1. The Supreme Court has ruled over the matter and can't be represented in whatever disguise.

2. It has been ruled that forfeiture is not a conviction.

3. Opposition couldn't provide the charges against Tinubu, evidence that Tinubu was charged to court couldn't be provided.

4. It's time bar bcoz the conviction occurred 36 years ago. Conviction in Nigeria constitution allows for pardon after 10 years.

To set the record straight.

THE MONEY TINUBU FORFEITED TO CHICAGO WAS RELATED TO DRUG TRAFFICKING ALLEGATION.

Never was it tax related unless you guys are speaking about another forfeiture because some people have a penchant for crimes.

Tinubu's 2023 presidential election victory was challenged by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party. The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal dismissed the petitions, while the Supreme Court subsequently upheld Tinubu's election victory.

Tinubu/APC should campaign based on what they promised Nigerians in 2023 if they have achieved any of them instead of injecting viruses into opposition parties and paying foreign lobbyist to paint them good. If they have done good their achievements supposed speak for them. They don't need to be judge on their own case.
Which lobbyist? The one that was paid $1.2 million by Atiku for just one year?

Which achievement? The one that is glaring to the trained brains. Oh I forgot that your standard is let a bag of rice be #20,000 and $1 = #450 even if it means trading away our future. Let consumption be cheap and let there be no capital formation for the future.
