An average doctor in US earns an average of 30k dollars(#39m) per month
In UK,an average of 10k pounds(#20m) per month
In Saudi Arabia,16k dollars(#20.8m) tax free with housing/transport allowance per month.

In Nigeria,an average doctor gets between 400k-600k per month.

So why should a Nigerian doctor who is enjoying all the basic amenities in another country including these huge salaries now want to come back and face insecurity, lack of jobs, inconsistent electricity etc?

Many of these doctors would stay if they were actually paid. It's not even the amount. It's actually getting their check when they should.

But Tinubu is a western puppet.

We need to reply to our president that safety and a stable job are what will truly make our country feel like a safe place to call home. Without these basic necessities, I don't think those in the diaspora will want to return home to live, because the lack of these essentials makes it difficult to find comfort in Nigeria.
Re: There’s Nowhere Like Home” – Tinubu Appeals To Nigerian Doctors Abroad To Return by peacenow:
This must be a joke of the year. No local government Emergency Medical Services at every local government level, No fire fighting at every local government level, No good road network and all available doctors are paid poor wages.

In the western world, EMS stabilizes patients, and would keep calling Hospitals that we have someone coming, in so so so minutes, this is is vital signs, he can/cannot talk, he is a male/female of so so age. etc. As soon as the person gets to the hospital, team of doctors and Nurses will take over for admission in Emergency room. After the that The person can be tranferred into the Hospital properly for treatment until he /she is OK.

Build Modern Hospital with total world classed standard equipments and pay them half of their total earnings abroad and see if they will not come back.

Return home to Nigeria where Islamic extremists from the Sahel region adopted unconstitutional Islamic sharia criminal justice system, and are using government institutions aided by Islamic terrorists, in a Jihad to get Islamic Republic of Nigeria to be governed with Sharia criminal laws. The Taliban method.
The Taliban succeded in Afghanistan by first winning elections and occupying important government posts. Thereafter, the Taliban unleashed their armed wings who fought and won even the American-led Allied forces in Afghanistan. Thereafter, the Taliban imposed the use of sharia criminal laws upon the whole of Afghanistan. Today, Afghanistan is the worst country for women and non Muslims.

Dissolve Nigeria into more manageable countries, that's the solution to the fracas in dysfunctional Nigeria.

To Mr. President,

I just want you to know that the everyday kidnappings and terrorist acts in Nigeria are frightening, and this insecurity is discouraging those living abroad from returning to Nigeria.

People that are thanking God for escaping this hell hole called country that they were lucky to escape from.

Even their counterparts who are not fortunate to escape already are plotting their exit strategy.

Does Tinubu know that in Nigeria, some young doctors earn as little as #200,000 per month as salary. Why would they stay back. No facilities to care for patients, no motivation to work here, yet their jobs are in high demand by developed climes who are willing to pay incredible amount as salary to attract them. My doctor friend summarized it this: life expectancy is poor in Nigeria because the government is not investing in healthcare and they don't invest because the people in government have stolen enough never to bother about attending any hospital in Nigeria even for the smallest of illness.

Dear Mr. President, Sir,

Kindly answer the following questions with objectivity and sincerity of heart:

1. Who among these doctors were sent abroad by the scholarship opportunity availed them by the Nigerian government?
2. Would you have still plead for their return to their father's land if they aren't doing well in their profession after another country had given them the right environment to thrive, which the Nigerian government denied them?
3. Are you aware they need not protest before getting their monthly salaries and other compensation where they are current? Can you match this?
4. If they were your children and you don't have access to all the assets and power you've amassed over the years, would you have advised them to return to Nigeria, just to repeat the same circle of living a below average life of not being able to drive a dream car or live in a decent personally owned house, even after working tirelessly for years?

Let's leave it there for now!

Sincerely, some doctors are really suffering in Nigeria. I came very close to a male doctor some time ago, and learnt he worked with like 3 hospitals, despite that all his income per month aren't still substantial (this is relative though). sad

This is the height of delusional grandeur. When Tinubu is sick , he runs to France, yet he is begging doctors abroad to come back home.

Dear President, first prove there is no place like home by completely stopping your medical tourism.

Ofunaofu:
Report: Current Govt Added More Debt in Two Years Than Nigeria Accumulated in 55 Years

• Decries Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio

•Urges FG to declare fiscal emergency

A new policy brief has warned that Nigeria’s worsening debt profile and weak revenue generation have pushed the country into a dangerous fiscal position, with the current administration accumulating more debt in two years than Nigeria recorded during its first 55 years after independence.

The report, released by the Alliance for Economic Research and Ethics LTD/GTE, a Nigerian policy think tank, argued that the country’s debt crisis has evolved into a governance and revenue emergency, as debt servicing obligations now exceed the federal government’s retained earnings.
>
>
According to the think tank, Nigeria’s public debt rose sharply from N87.38 trillion in June 2023 to N159.28 trillion by the end of 2025, with President Bola Tinubu’s administration accounting for about N65.9 trillion of the increase within its first two years in office.

The organisation in the brief titled: “Nigeria Is Borrowing to Breathe—and the Clock Is Ticking”, noted that Nigeria accumulated only about N12.06 trillion in debt from independence in 1960 up to 2015, meaning the current administration added more than five times that amount in just 24 months.

The report stated that while previous governments also contributed significantly to the country’s rising debt burden, the speed of accumulation under the current administration had intensified concerns over fiscal sustainability.

“President Bola Tinubu’s administration has added a further N65.9 trillion in just two years. To put that in perspective: it took Nigeria’s first 55 years of independence to accumulate N12 trillion in debt. The current administration has added more than five times that amount in 24 months,” it argued.

It recalled that Nigeria briefly became almost debt-free externally after the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo secured an $18 billion Paris Club debt relief package in 2005 and paid $12 billion to extinguish about $30 billion in external obligations.

This man bragged while campaigning that he will make Nigeria so good that Nigerians abroad will beg and rush to return home, now he is begging?

Return home to do what exactly?

Recently, I was planning on visiting Germany to buy a new car I will send down to Nigeria for my use when I visit, but with the now viral police stop and search video racially profiling Igbos, why will I ever want to visit Nigeria?

I am 1000% better off here (England) in all ramifications than in Nigeria where though I am a free born, I suffer racism, bigotry and violence that will damage my mental health and that of my kids.

Nigeria is a joke of a country!
l agree with you, l initially prepared to relocate to Nigeria, l visited several times but my brother, l couldn't fit in again, coupled with the general and astronomical increase in insecurity, banditry , kidnapping, l left and went back to my base and watching Nigeria from afar, l will continue to be a visitor to Nigeria, Nigeria don cast oooooo hahaha 😂

Do you think that 200 million Nigerians are also sick with tribalistic zoning and rotation mindset for sharing the national cake of corruption at local, state and federal levels?

Otherwise, how could we let this worst crook be president and destroy whatever Buhari left behind, of the prosperous, peaceful and secure country PDP handed over 11 years ago?

Any idea what we have to do to get rid of our own sickness so we can resolve the sickness in Aso Rock huh

“I’ve been through that journey. I’m home, and I can tell you there’s nowhere like home. I experienced life in America and learned valuable lessons in accountancy and finance before returning to Nigeria. Since coming back, it has been a rewarding challenge to contribute to building our nation,” he said.
You return to a country where you strove to have unfettered access to the nation's treasury. Amassing wealth untold for your lineage to come.

But you want others to come back to insecurity, power cuts, inflation, traffic congestion, flooding, poverty (minimum wage that doesn't take you anywhere), etc.
