Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has set social media on fire after sharing her opinion on the financial responsibilities of men in relationships.

According to the actress, a man should naturally provide for the woman he is dating without waiting for her to ask.

In her words:

"She doesn't even need to ask you. It's your responsibility as a man to know that your woman needs to dress well and look good. She should be your pride."

Reacting to the term "gold digger," Bukky Wright didn't hold back:

"I hate it when men call women gold diggers. What do you expect her to dig? I won't advise any woman to dig anything less than gold."

When asked if men who cannot afford the financial demands of dating should stay away from relationships, she responded:

"Then don't date if you cannot afford it! Or date according to your level."

This woman just shattered the decades of respect that many have for her. Very poor take from her.

In her myopic logic, a man should provide for a lady he is not married to, and has no consanguineous relationship with? A random woman that can leave anytime? A woman that might have very little value to offer you (no talking about sex here).

What happened to going for extra courses and certifications for yourself? What happened to purchasing stock and be earning passive income?

If you're feeling too generous and your family are doing well, the man should locate the nearest orphanage or Primary Health Care Center and establish a stream of donation for them. God will bless you tremendously (hopefully including a good lady for a spouse).

No man has any business providing for a lady you're not married to. She's not your wife, mother, daughter, sister, etc. Her parents and family should do the providing. Nobody should fuel anybody's entitlement.

So dating is all about spending money now? And I'm pretty sure she's directing that statement at men.
