I Bought This Fruit #50 Naira For 10 Pieces, What's The Name? (photos) by lovediehatelive(op): 7:27pm On Jul 31
Yes, as I went to my normal joint to buy fruits I couldn't get it because it raining since morning and this evening she didn't come out.

So on my way back I angrily took another road as I was going I sighted this boy with tray on head.

I reluctantly called him and asked the price, he said #50 naira.

I was shocked because fruits here are very expensive, and I was expecting him to say #200 naira at least.

But my greatest shock was when he packed 8 and put it for me, I this one you packed all I don't have money for it o.

He said only #50 naira I don't have?

He laughed and added two more.

Like 8 pieces of fruit for #50 naira?

I couldn't believe it, I had to give me 200 because it's ridiculously cheap.

It looks like apple but they said it's not.

What's the name?

What's the nutritional benefits?

Is it better than apple?

Have you seen it?

Seriously?

Does apple grow in Nigeria? Because it seems like what will spoil very soon, but the apple I usually buy can stay days without blemish

No, it's not cashew.

The flesh is so soft and water like cucumber.

Lol, cashew water stains clothes. And the flesh are kind of tough and sticky. But this is different.

Does cashew have hollow hole in the middle?

This one has, with a "pit" like seed like avocado in it but smaller

I don't even remember the last time I saw the fruit itself.

We should plant some of these fruits trees before they totally go extinct.

Tasteless rubbish. I bought six for 1K. I’m surprised someone can find it so cheap. Apples are what they were called. I bought them out of curiosity. Never again.

Bell apple is very different from the foreign apple you are used to.

Foreign apple does grow in some parts of Nigeria especially Jos and Kaduna. It struggles or dies in a few other places and there are places that it won't just survive.

I just planted the seedling I ordered from Jo's recently. If it survives, it won't do well as it does in Jos (in terms of fruiting). They love cold for fruiting.

And by the way, imported foreign apples you buy are doused in serious preservatives, that's why they last so long.

Those are not cashew fruits. They are a kind of apple specie with plenty water content. They are cheap but nowhere is it sold for 50 naira for 10pieces not even in the remote villages and not even if everyone has the tree in their compound. One can sell for 50 naira, not a whooping 10pieces.
