Trump on Iran: Most people would’ve given up by now, so I credit them for being tough
July 31, 2026

US President Donald Trump is asked how he plans to revive last month’s memorandum of understanding with Iran, which was supposed to end their war after three and a half months.

“We just want to win,” Trump tells reporters at a cabinet meeting, offering little indication that he’s interested in a diplomatic settlement or that he has a strategy for bringing the war to an end.

“We’re trying to be as nice as you can be in a situation like that,” he says before reiterating, They cannot have a nuclear weapon. Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.”

Asked if Americans should be prepared for the back-and-forth strikes between the US and Iran to continue, Trump responds, “A little bit.”

“It would be foolish to say no. You always have to keep your guard up.

Asked about the status of talks with Iran, Trump claims Tehran always is interested in talking but constantly breaks its word.

As for whether he thinks it’s still possible to reach a deal with Iran, Trump responds, “I’m losing faith in them,” claiming they fired missiles at US troops in Jordan while the sides were in the middle of negotiations.

Asked how many more strikes it will take in order to restore maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump responds, “You never know.”

“Most people would have given up by now… They haven’t, so I give them credit for that. They’re tough,” he adds.

He is either a poor student of history or just reckless enough to take on Persia. He is now beaten to stupor enough to realize why his predecessors stayed away from direct military action against the Iranians.

He got that one right.

Tough basta#$. I love them. Even Trump can't hide his admiration for them.

Sometimes you make people respect you not by being soft and mushy. Be soft and get molded into whatever shape every one but yourself wants.

Iran has changed tactics from defensive to offensive in the past few days. As Trump's military assets are landing in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain etc, to stage an attack on Iran, Iran is blowing up the weapons and US soldiers!

US has stopped updating its number of killed and injured soldiers.

A multimillion dollar F-35B crashed and military base burnt while Trump was holding his press conference. The fate of the US pilot is yet unknowm (another way of saying dead).

Iran has completely buried the age of iron domes, air craft carriers, F35s, B2 bombers, CIA, and Mossad spying precision before our very eyes.

They are playing mind games with Iran. This is not the first time. Once Iran relaxes they hit them again.

While Iran also plays the victim but uses her Arsenals in a non conventional way to hit their targets. Holding on to the straight for the negotiations to earn money and rebuild post war. This battle could prolong more than a year if not wisely taken care of.

You credit them for making you rich...
You don't want to squash them, you just want to keep them going long enough to keep disstabilizing the middle east and fluctuating prices and making you rich.

Re: Trump On Iran:Most People Would’Ve Given Up By Now,I Credit Them For Being Tough by CaseSensitive(m):
You met your match in Iran I guess? There's a reason why past US presidents were never stupid enough to even incubate the idea of going to war with Iran. Iran can NEVER be defeated by launching missiles at them without ground invasion and because nature favoured them with mountains, US ground invasion of Iran which is bigger than France, Germany, the UK, and Spain combined - is virtually impossible and will literally be death sentence for American soldiers. Needless to even mention that the entire US military will have to be involved - The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, special Ops like SEAL maybe, and will require 500,000 to a million personnel at the very least. Only a very few - if any, of the ground troops will make it out alive. It will essentially be Vietnam war 2.0, only that the it will be more brutal than Vietnam. That's a huge political, economic and military personnel cost that USA cannot afford unless they haven't learn their lessons.

In other words, since Trump kidnapped the legitimate president of Venezuela like a petty thief - and literally stealing their oil, who has heard "We're fighting narco terrorist" narrative from him again? Since he's losing in Iran, who has heard "We must free Iranian citizens from their terrorist government" narrative again? Importantly, hope "Nigerian christians" are now learning how imperial powers use certain narratives as Casus belli or smoke screen to justify invasions and incursions, in order to advance their own strategic objectives? Imperial powers are not benevolent charities - they don't give a flying duck (with colourful wings) about you.

Side note - Talking about narratives, there are even narratives that circulates in Nigerian media that smells of EU/UK/US propaganda but Nigerians will fight over these narratives without even knowing that bigger powers are behind the scene pulling the strings. They own the media you consume - their legacy media like BBC, Sky News CNN etc and your local Nigerian media too (Yes those too have been bought because they receive fundings from UK, EU and USA). That's how you get controlled and you end up having a lopsided worldview and reality. You'd even go against your own interest.

USA, i want to see your troops in north Korea, they have weapons of mass destruction, you invaded Iraq and killed millions of people to steal crude oil on the pretext of WMD, what's stopping you from doing the same to NK today? Leave Iran alone they are not a threat to the world 🤣

After eating humble pie...grin grin grin

Trump thought Iran is Venezuela, he didn't check Google map to see how big Iran is compared to tiny Israel...grin grin grin

Iran is showing strength never seen before.

Meanwhile, The Strait of Hormuz was never under Iranian control and was wide open before America started the senseless war, America thought she could just invade countries at will and get away with it but the Iranians became a bone in their throat that is hard for the Americans to swallow...grin grin grin

America fooooolishly handed over the control of the Strait of Hormuz to Iran, something Iran never thought would be a very big leverage and could create a global economic meltdown....grin grin grin

Intel has it that Iran is now planning to use the underwater Internet cables underneath the Strait of Hormuz as another very big leverage, that cables serves 95% of global Internet connections...grin grin grin

The Americans are focused on preventing Iran from having a Nuclear Weapon but fooooolishly handed them the Strait of Hormuz that is far more powerful and globally devastating than any Nuclear weapon...no be juju be that?...grin grin grin

No US President was fooooolish enough to start a war with Iran knowing what the consequences would be until Dummmbb Trump showed up...grin grin grin
