It is heartbreaking seeing the multitude of people who need help because they are suffering from kidney diseases both children and adults.

Pls Nigeria should be careful with what they take which may be harmful to their kidney.

All this people are just from one hospital called parklane hospital.

Thats why they should pay more attention to their health and what they consume. There are some foods and fruits that can help prevent kidney diseases. Like intake of Apples, brocolli, garlic, onion, water melon, cucumber. They are low in Oxalate so can prevent many kidney problems

At this point, shouldn't our food and drúg regulatory bodies go into overdrive to ensure that the food, drinks, and medications we buy meet the standards for human consumption?

In oversea they wake up and drink coffee or tea.
In Nigeria they wake up and start drinking sachet alcohol bitters

What state is this? Regulatory authorities need to conduct investigation on what these people have been consuming and where they've been sourcing for their foods. These people I'm seeing here don't look like people that can afford routine dialysis, I pray they get help

Some do come from different part of the country, so I don't think it's location defined.

It's more of being intentional in what goes into your system and general health /wellness practices.

I just googled and saw that it's a teaching hospital in Enugu, possibly this is the only hospital in the state with a kidney disease clinic. Even at that, our regulatory agencies need carry out investigations in what people are consuming in that state.

You think it's the alcohol that's the problem? Even those taking coffee and tea, how many are not drinking fake products? That's the major problem.

Forget lifestyle and all those other things, except you grow all your own food(which is almost impossible), you're at risk.

GMO food and no regulatory board to thoroughly inspect the food product that are being sold in the market.

Just this year, I remember a lady pointing out the fact that a bread manufacturer used illegal preservatives and the manufacturers instead used the Nigerian police to arrest and torture that lady, despite all the proof she provided.

You would think you have problems until your health becomes a problem then you would realise that health issues trumps every other problem

KIdney disease is common among West Africans. Nobody knows why. But the common use of herbal remedy has been suggested as a possible factor. To say nothing of alcohol abuse and the ingestion of fake drugs.

This is really sad
same thing happens in the north
i feel its the water they drink
enugu doesn't really have water like that
so the water they drink might be contaminated
i am not sure but it is just my opinion

My dear brothers and sisters, please avoid processed foods and beverages. Eat more of natural foods, drink enough clean water. That's why I commend what NAFDAC is doing currently on sachet drinks but they should do more on some certain daily consumptions, a lot of backyard products are going on in the streets of Nigeria especially Lagos, a lot of untreated sachet water in the street of Lagos in the name of "pure water" A lot to say but my dear people let's be careful on the things we eat and drink, you might think you are enjoying your money not knowing that you are killing yourself.
