Decades ago when I was in elementary school used to see pupils plucking them from trees on my way back from school. I think those kids used to call them ampus ![]() So I assumed in my young mind it was actually our local version of apples since the actual ones don't grow in this part of the world |

Major7:Come one, Local Champion. This is not cashew nau. The one you used to buy in a bottle as cashew nut, does it come from this fruits? The core (pith) of this fruit is not even edible. This fruit is BELL APPLE. Or just Local Apple. It has never been a relative of Cashew all its life! This fruit is found in almost all the primary schools in my locality, I think, cos it's good for a child's brain development and also boots immune system. We used to eat even the tender leaves in those years. It's full of Vitamin C. The core (seed is 100% useless like like the P in APC. |

Very tasteless something. My sister has it in her compound. Looks beautiful from the outside but has a sour like taste. It tastes nothing like watermelon as someone pointed out earlier. |

You are a w!cke∆ person, so you can actually exchange goods for #50? Even if you were offered that, you could have paid more at least #200. It was sold that way, because that is not a serious fruit, it only attracts children, who plucks it with reckless abandon, that boy only needs money for biscuits and decided to exchange that, and yet you paid, with what can not afford pepper. |

This is not cashew sir. We have this in our compound. I think it's called bell apple. And in case you are doubting me, quote me and I will snap the tree and show you. Which part of the country did you grow up and how old are you if I must ask I mean no disrespect but I'm surprised you don't know cashew when you see one,the seed has been removed for sales and they're more costly than the cashew fruit itself[/quote] |

Major7:It is not cashew. First a cashew fruit seller can never remove the nuts before selling. I have never seen such thing in my entire life. Secondly, removing a cashew nut puts a hollow on the cashew fruit from where the nut was removed. |
