This is disaster. No oxygen. Was there attempt to revive him through surgery?
Baba, hmmm, may God help us. When people say doctors are running away from Nigeria, this is the real-life situation. Passion no really too dey again for the profession.most people are just waiting for opportunity for the next available country to Japa to.When my friend moved to the UK few months ago and saw his salary and how things are working over there, he said he was finally proud to have studied medicine and surgery.I am currently on my annual leave, but I visited the hospital today to see a plastic surgeon. I went to our outpatient clinic and saw a massive crowd. As I was walking out of the building, a patient's relative complained that the doctors inside weren't trying hard enough. I just smiled and asked him why he said that. He told me he had been waiting outside for almost four hours without being called in.I smiled again, told him to be patient, and should actually be praising the doctors inside for choosing to stay back in the country. I followed up by telling him that the value of my salary 10 to 11 years ago, when I first started practicing, was much higher than what I am earning right now after writing professional exams and promotions. I asked him a simple question: 'Sir, can we call that growth in a country?' The guy couldn't believe what I was telling him. I just told him that is the harsh reality of the country.Even at the specialty clinic I visited, I couldn't see a specialist because the department didn't have one on-site; the doctor coming to help was traveling all the way from a neighboring state and was yet to arrive.Personally, I now have to do extra locum jobs outside my primary hospital and even run another business completely unrelated to medicine just to take care of myself and my family instead of me writing my Thesis. smiley
Baba even Doctors dey travel go African countries now ooo for Japa because they can pick up 5x of what they are earning in Nigeria.
May God help us.Our leaders are not trying.they are sharing 5x what they use to share as FAAC in 2023 but they are reluctant to even make salary of civil servant 💯 % from the new 5x FAAC allocation they are now getting.

Someone stabbed in the chest! look at the type of medical attention, very causal like someone who got a needle piece on his finger.

Never pray to be in a medical emergency in Nigeria, your chance of surviving is 3%.

I watched a new born baby died in a government hospital simply because they don't have whatever is that the call "suction"
The doctor and nurses were running around shouting "where is suction?" searching different departments of the hospital until the baby is gone.

I think the best way to solve poverty and people moving out of the country is to implement work per hour pay.

This will make people more dedicated and self reliance than placing someone on Monthly wages.

With this, you can earn as much as you can work. You can even work in 2 hospitals in a day and earn more.

I think we can peg 5k - 6k per hour for a minimum wages. With this one can earn between 1,500,000 to 1,800,000 naira per month for 10hrs labour per day.

Minimum working hour should be 6 for professionals.

Implement this and see the rate of development in the country.

All those people that japa will definitely come.

Note: 5k - 6k is proposal for just Minimum wages. It can go upward based on experience and job task.

SMH.

What a pity..

One medical personnel may have stolen the suction to go use in their own private clinic or maternity.

Nigeria is the worst place to fall ill, if you don't have money.

Death could find you so easily.

I thank God for his blessings on my life.
This did not happen in Nigeria, your hatred for the country motivates you to think of only bad things about the country

Can't we just talk about issues without involving money? Even if you have the money, the dilapidated system won't spear you. I've seen cases of accident victims been rushed to the hospital, not serious issues, just broken bones, torn and exposed flesh, no internal injuries, but after some hours, they'll be pronounced dead, why because of the nonchalant attitude of the nurse and doctors.
How about kids I've seen that have lost their lives because of this menace.
Money will never and can never save anyone from death.

You are a self-deceiving dealist without ant touch with reality.

I guess you live in a cave somewhere in Fiditi.
A cave you say, at least the one I live keeps me sane enough to realize that you are who you want to be, negativity begats same.

Be optimistic.

Nigeria will get there.

In Nigeria hospitals especially public hospitals, they don't attempt to revive patient, they just leave patient to their own faith.
