⚡Iran is demanding a 7% transit fee on all commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, while the United States is seeking to negotiate the rate down to 5%.

Russian and Chinese vessels would be exempt from the fee.

I've yet to get a answer. In a war truth is the first casualty.
Suppose it was 1,205 or 997.
Is that a crime against humanity

Your friend up there already corrected you and gave you an off-ramp. Make use of it and take a walk. There is nothing like "It takes two to tangle." Na your mouth I first hear that one. It is tango and not tangle.

And I know you already checked online and saw tango is the correct word. But because of your stubbornness and the habit of always wanting to be correct, you will rather double down on arguing that it's "tangle" rather than accepting that your attempt to correct someone else's use of English was a disaster.

There is nothing wrong with correcting someone else's use of English. But if you are going to do so, don't be arrogant about it, and put some effort into making sure you are correct, else you may just end up turning yourself into a laughingstock.
I weak for the brother.

I won't pity the Chinese when that happens. The experiences in Italy, France, the Netherlands and of recent the UK show that the West will seize Chinese assets, and unfortunately for the Chinese, nothing will happen. Russian assets have been seized and the world continues. The talk of what people would say is largely because of East Asians who still - fo0lishly - prefer to hold Western assets will fade away once Chinese assets are seized, because after all, the Chinese economy is the biggest in the region. Aside from East Asians, who else owns assets in the West? Arabs, Indians and Africans. These people cannot stand up to the West as China does and would do.

Yet the Chinese continue to pump billions into resuscitating ailing Western companies, especially in Europe. I keep wondering if this is juju or something. Time and time again, there are signs in other EU countries, yet they continue to pile money.
putin warned russian oligarchs for years
that their affinity for western assets will come back to bite them

what was their response?
they continued sending capital to the west

there is this human tendency to fomo
buy insurance only after a catastrophic event
everyone wants to keep dancing until the music stops

the chinese will learn the same lesson that the russian oligarchs learned
but their losses will be the largest on record
it will be a very painful lesson

lots of suicides and executions in the future of these magnates and officials
how anyone can look at abrahimovich's predicament
and place themselves in the same position has to be studied

i think some of these purchases of western companies make strategic sense
if done in a coordinated manner, which i'm sure happens on some level

like if you're buyine a german or italian machining company
you're doing so to acquire their ip which may not be the creme de la creme
but it could still be world class
or good enough as a bedrock that you can then hire top talent to improve
with all institutional knowledge being repatriated to china

lots of great european companies that simply can't compete with the giants or globally
but have a treasure trove of data and competitive tech
available for pennies on the dollar
hoovering this up makes strategic sense

the issue is that i do not think these strategic acquisitions account for the supermajority of these capital exports
asians are stubborn
tell them not to park capital in the west and they'll look for a "secret", incognito workaround

LordAdam16, with this US Supremacy Court ruling on pedolf's immunity, and the possibility that he could stand trial pending more revelations, escalation is bound to amplify across the Iranian front as the only available means of diverting public attention.

And if that won't work, a false flag on Vpotus pinning it on Iran or another similar event like 9/11 might just be around the corner.

We haven't seen the last of this shite yet.

Looks like Lockheed Martin has hurriedly delivered a new batch of fighter jets to the U.S Armed Forces😊.

WriteerNg and LordAdam16, can anyone verify the veracity of this information?
The US wasn't short of fighter jets. Its attack missiles and long range munitions.

So, this batch of new jets will not change anything.

What I even envisage is that naturalised Chinese in Western countries go also collect - from Australia to Canada to New Zealand etc. For one, many Chinese in Canada source cheap capital from Hong Kong and out of the North American country back to Hong Kong/en-route to China. The West is suspicious of such people, and as you stated, the Chinese can be stubborn. If you block them from say Mainland China, they move to a nearby country that has not been blocked or tap from their cousins in those countries to establish a base with the aim of selling or doing business in the West. We see this in Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Morocco, Mexico and Canada.
you're right, naturalized citizens will not be spared
i think it'll be a mixed bag
naturalized asians have a lot of influence in the west
far more than russians

lobbyists, lawyers, politicians, intel agencies will eat good
it will be a free for all
trying to get exemptions, carveouts, or reward money for snitching

I just dey imagine the facial expression of Chinese ladies who are either married to White men, love White men when they see their ethnic men's wealth being confiscated or re-sold to Arab or Indian owners. Esp in Canada when it push gets to shove.
don't get your hopes up
the westerners are champions of virtue signaling
look at gaza
look at venezuela
the average westerner is going to chalk it up as banditry by their government and claim they have a different opinion but the government does not listen to the populace anymore

no one really does sanctimony like westerners
look at white women
they benefitted from slavery, colonialism, and every evil of the west
but if you listen to them today, they've tried to absolve themselves of any culpability
instead, they've cast it as the product of patriarchy (evil white men)
and that they were actually oppressed
not as oppressed as the congolese losing limbs or west africans getting tossed out of ships
but oppressed nonetheless so they can virtue signal and tell the rest of us (both the evil white men and the aggrieved others) what to do and what not to do
while they continue to enjoy the perks of the never-ending banditry and carnage

i expect the western men to do the same thing
and a good percentage of chinese women to eat it up

this will only change if things flip to how the world was during the middle (dark) ages
where asia becomes the peak of civilization and the west falls far behind

Yes, those investments made sense when they happened, but going forward it is becoming risky. At least in the US and Australia, it is being made clear that assets won't be sold. So they have gained sense and aren't bidding as before. But in the EU? They continue to pump money. They shouldn't bid for any company, allow it to enter bankruptcy and buy over their employees.

In Taiwan, there is just no way Mainland Chinese companies can acquire a Taiwanese tech (AI or semiconductor) company. Taiwanese officials will oppose it. The same applies to South Korea and even Japan. But what do Chinese companies do? They pay top dollar to recruit the experienced staff from such companies to work in Mainland China.

So allow those companies to die off. Employ the experienced employees. Mind you, some of these EU companies are so debt ridden!
we'll see what changes happen over the next few years
especially after nexperia
one would think they'd have already gotten the memo seeing how aggressive the eu has been against russian-owned assets
