How can your highest priority project be a Coastal Highway of Fraud, after plunging over 50 million of your countrymen into extreme hardship from sudden removal of petrol subsidies? |
| Re: Nigeria Cannot Afford The Lagos-calabar Coastal Highway — Donald Duke by Validated: 5:14am On Aug 05 |
Tinubu's key strategic failures. 1. Announcing "Subsidy is gone" without understanding the repacussion. 2. Floating the Naira at the same time as subsidy removal. 3. Embarking on the fraudulent Coastal Road to NOWHERE. 4. Muslim Muslim ticket in a secular country with 52:48 Christian-Muslim population 5. Embarking of relentless propaganda. For these reasons, Tinubu must return to Bourdillon. |

But Nigeria is not solely financing the Calabar coastal highway. The federal government is only to provide 25% equity funding while the contractor provides the remaining. It is a public private project of which the contractor is expected to recoup his money through tollgates. Why is Donald Duke speaking from the position of ignorance? |

I agree with him on this. That Coastal road is a complete waste of money. An elephant project that has caused flooding for the people |

You think you know better than him? The PPP thing, you need to sit down to understand it. It's deeper than what you read on the paper. |

It's ironic for Tinubu to lambast governors for building what he calls white elephant projects and flyovers when he himself is building the largest fraudulent white elephant coastal highway in this country's history. |

Something is definitely wrong with the so called leaders from the South. Look at how he convinently left Badagry - Sokoto that benefit majorly the North to attack road that would directly impact the economy of the SS particularly where he comes from. Calabar was once a capital city but how many development you can find in that part of the country? When will Calabar advance in development when the little thing that could enhance such development is being criticized by the leaders of that region? The sophistication leader from the South attached to politics is so egocentric and regressively appauling. Where was Donald Duke voice when Buhari and Amaechi were building railway to Maradi in Niger Republic. It is so sad that an average Southern politician will mortgage his region on the alter of politics, that's why many of them will always play second fiddle to the North and their elite |

These are same people crying that port in SS receive low patronage yet they don't want road that will create accessibility for a thriving port business, how many truck can the existing road in that region accommodate when port activities increase in. Calabar port and other ports in the SS? It is a shame to have someone like Donald Duke to have been a governor of Cross River with this type of retard mindset |

Mr, they did not borrow money from you for the project. There are so many communities who have never had road access to their place, but because of the coastal high way, the FG has no choice than to connect them to the road. How many new business will spring up along the coastal away road. Education in Nigeria is questionable |

What was the benefit of his wasteful tinapa project, which he invested cross rivers funds. |

garykoeman:Just help me ask the Duke of Calabar, between his failed Tinapa project and Coastal road which one will benefit the people of Cross River and the SS more? |

| Re: Nigeria Cannot Afford The Lagos-calabar Coastal Highway — Donald Duke by zoedew: 7:07am On Aug 05 |
givedemwotowoto:There goes a man who could not think through a simple strategy to keep Tinapa and Obudu Cattle Ranch tourism initiative alive and working through successive administrations. Donald Duke displays ignorance about the strategic importance of that road considering the insecurity in the South-East where lies the main corridor into the South-South. Also there is the pressing need to open the coastal areas that had sat in obscurity for decades now. A nice approach to building the road is to do it in sectors and that is what the Federal Government is doing. |

Donald Duke is a dumb man When Nigeria built Abuja, did we have the money to build it? Other Cities/States suffered for the development of Abuja |
| Re: Nigeria Cannot Afford The Lagos-calabar Coastal Highway — Donald Duke by zoedew: 7:13am On Aug 05 |
givedemwotowoto:It just had to be done. It was an idea whose time has come! From First Republic politicians to Militicians like Babangida and Abacha to Smoker Shagari/Umaru Diji to Atiku and Obasanjo they stole us us blind. Best to deprive ourselves of momentary comfort and invest in our future by building that coastal road. |

Parachoko:Bro, did you know that Abuja is one of the few cities built from scratch and successful globally. Very few countries have been able to achieve that We risked a new city and worked, how much more normal projects |

| Re: Nigeria Cannot Afford The Lagos-calabar Coastal Highway — Donald Duke by zoedew: 7:20am On Aug 05 |
EasternActivist:1. When the Ibo start their self-determination fights that come up every so often the existing road to Calabar becomes unsafe. 2. The Coastal areas to be opened up by the road construction has been long in coming! We need to do it to open our space. 3. A Northern President is not likely to commit the huge resources needed to build that road to the project. See how the Sokoto-Badagry project was abandoned across decades of our National existence! |
