No, I'm not on drugs. Are you? Because I wonder why you think concern about privacy violation suggests I'm on drugs.

You have evidence that each and everyone of those patients agreed (1) to be photographed and (2) for the photographs to be put on social media?
Are they blind that they're being videod?
They all need help, that's the reason for the publicity.

I wish Nigerians will take High Blood Pressure and Diabetes more seriously. STOP the local so called medicines that DO NOTHING. Cheap and effective real medications are available to help you manage High BP and Diabetes into old age of 90 or more.

My grandfathers where diabetic and had high BP but with modern education lived to almost 90 managing the conditions with diet, daily walks and modern medicine not stupid nonsense herbs that do NOTHING.

So if you or your parent went to a hospital with a medical condition, you'd be happy to see your photo used on SM like this. And obviously, the post we're responding to here is asking for help for these people.

Clearly you don't understand the issue here at all. I doubt you have any sense.

Wetin Dey really cause dis kidney problems sef??
Any of the below could cause kidney problems :-

Drinking roadside agbo significantly increases your risk of severe, irreversible kidney and liver damage.

While traditional herbs can contain active medicinal properties, unregulated mixtures sold on the street pose major dangers to your internal organs.

Why Roadside Agbo Is Dangerous to Kidneys

No standardized dosage
: Vendors mix multiple liquids by eye, frequently leading to toxic overdoses that overwhelm your kidney's filtering system.

Chemical contamination: Laboratory testing on street-sold agbo has revealed hazardous contaminants, including heavy metals (like lead and mercury) and Naphthalene (the toxic chemical found in mothballs).

Hidden orthodox drugs: Some vendors secretly crush prescription pills, steroids, or high doses of painkillers into the mixture to make it feel more "potent," creating a dangerous cocktail that can cause sudden acute kidney failure.

Alcohol-based mixtures: Many types of agbo are steeped in local gin or crude alcohol. Alcohol combined with unmeasured herbs acts as a direct toxin to your renal tissues.

Hygiene and preparation risks: Concoctions are often brewed with unpurified water, fermented over long periods, and stored in unsafe plastic or rusty containers.

Warning Signs of Organ Damage

If you or someone you know has consumed street agbo, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any of these danger signs:

Passing very little urine or highly darkened Urines.
Swelling in the feet, ankles, or legs

Constant, unexplained extreme Tiredness

Yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice)

Severe nausea or vomiting

Dietary causes of kidney issues include

excessive salt in food,

high animal protein intake

high sugar consumption.

These elements raise blood pressure, increase filtration strain, and promote metabolic stress on the kidneys.

High Salt and Processed Foods

Extra salt: Raises blood pressure, which damages the tiny blood vessels in the kidneys over time.

Hidden additives: Processed and packaged meals contain chemical preservatives and sodium that force kidneys to work harder.

Excess Animal Protein

Red and processed meat: Generates high amounts of acid and waste products like urea that the kidneys must filter out.

High-protein strain: Can cause hyperfiltration (increased internal pressure) in the kidneys, worsening existing damage.

Sugars and Beverages

Sugary drinks Contributes to obesity and diabetes, which are leading causes of chronic kidney disease.

Artificial additives: Dark colas contain high levels of phosphoric acid, which is linked to kidney stones and mineral imbalances

Yes, the governor is not only building iconic international conference centre, he's also building first class international hospital and so many other projects in the state. It is not his fault that the people are careless with their healths and take medications indiscriminately without prescriptions which I'm very sure has contributed to the growing cases of kidney failures.

My only advice for the governor is to look into the issue of drug distribution and administration in the state by closing down all open drug markets in the state and replacing them with modern drug distribution system which ensures that drugs are handled carefully and given only prescription by licenced doctors and pharmacists.

Elzazzi:

The problem is not with food that comes into the country rather it is caused by indiscriminate use of medicines in the country without prescription. Medicines are meant to be used strictly by prescription and when the need outweighs the risks, but in Nigeria, the open drug market system makes it easy for people to consume medications indiscriminately. For instance, NSAIDS and antibiotics are used indiscriminately in this state of Enugu. Just a slight feeling of fever or headache, they rush into roadside chemists and open drug markets to buy drugs they're not supposed to use and often times, they take overdose of such drugs. This is why even children now suffer from kidney failures!

Some pain killers cause kidney problems.

Not taking enough water.

Excessive use of drugs

Late discovery of kidney issues

Alcohol, tobacco and certain lifestyle.

High intake of protein when the kidney is already struggling to metabolise protein in the system.

Etc

Due to the hardship in the country, the market has been flooded with fake and substandard products. Sadly, these products are causing serious health problems, including kidney damage, for many people in Nigeria.

Here in Germany 🇩🇪, even many elderly people continue working and some even smoke cigarettes, yet they still seem to have better access to quality products and healthcare. In Nigeria, it’s a completely different story.

I weep 😢 for my people because the situation keeps getting worse. My prayer is that things will change for the better and that our people will be protected from these dangerous fake products.

Unless you're trying to tell us you did other tests longside the TSH test, vitamin deficiency being discovered from TSH test is impossible, and a big lie.

Change hospitals, go to a Teaching Hospital preferably. Something else might be making you "extremely weak". Anemia, dehydration, poor nutrition, diabetes, infections (bacteria, viral, etc), other NCDs like heart, liver and kidney diseases could be responsible for the extreme weakness, not just Thyroid diseases and vitamin deficiencies.

My honest advice
You've spoken well my friend, I did TSH,CBC,kidney and blood sugar together because of fatigue/weakness. While B12 deficiency was written about there...

It pains me to see that little boy there, it's there lifestyles that caused what is happening to them, diabetes and high blood are some of the causes of kidney disease.

It is heartbreaking seeing the multitude of people who need help because they are suffering from kidney diseases both children and adults.

Pls Nigeria should be careful with what they take which may be harmful to their kidney.

All this people are just from one hospital called parklane hospital.
