Yes and Yes, it would influence voter's choice.
Hunger is bad.
Anyways, vote wisely.
Vote Obi
Let's try Obi and see if there would be change.
We are tired of BAT.
Nigerians are dumb people, they will sell their votes for 2k, 3k, 5k, a loaf of bread, 5kg of rice, a carton of indomie or wrapper.

Then they will start ranting, complaining and cry about hunger and bad government after 6 months and repeat the circle every 4 years.

This is the sad reality of Nigeria!

I highly doubt it.

You think the average voter in Beere/Elekuro in Ibadan, will vote for a more capable candidate over their tribe brother Tinubu?

Or the average Muslim Norther in Kano, will vote a Christian PitObi over their Muslim Tulumbu?

Hunger be damned.

Tribalism + Religion >>> competence.

Nigerians are quite "d*ft"
Thats why the opposition using hunger as a major campaign tool is pedestrian at best because hunger is relative,2 thousand naira can be enough for someone to feed a whole day and even make a meal for a family and he or she can be fine so far that is taken care of but thats different from amaechi's kind of hunger or atiku's kind of hunger.

Mko hope 93 campaign had end to hunger as one of the major campaign slogans, that was 33 years ago!

Very yes..

It s even absurd to ask people for vote again after subjecting them to so much labour pain.

Like you are seriously asking them to continue the hunger.

Nigerian Presidents need to understand the power their tongues wield.. their utterances are like laws.. it can change the course of things for millions.

Same way a simple pronouncement of 'subsidy is gone' changed everything even though nothing really changed in payment terms because there are still paying 'Energy Security Expenses' to God-Knows-who.

Another right pronouncement can set things back to the right course, esp in the forex rates and honest governance.. Why they are not doing that beats me..🤔
una go cry tired.
Election is local. Nit TV stations and online

yes it does a lot. when there is high poverty level in a country or the gap between the rich and poor is verry very wide as in case of Nigeria. citizens will trade their right, voice for bread. Example politicians to it people during election, bandit recruitment etc

Indeed. Opposition politicians better hope those belle-full aliens don't get to vote next year.

obi was tried in tiny Anambra n he failed woefully

So u want us to reward his failure in Anambra?

If that is the case then kogi people too can come out one day n say we should try yahaya Bello too now...imagine some northerners saying we should try yerima too?

A country can't b run on trial n error, we know u only hate Tinubu cos he's not your kinsman

Why would the APC mobilize the grassroots, when they so much believes in their rigging formula, even the decamped Governors contributed money to oil and greased the rigging machine.... grin

I can see you're BATified, that's a bonafide BAT.
Anyways, Obi is not my kinsman. I'm not from the East.
Even though he didn't do exceptionally in Anambra state but with the wealth of his experience, he may likely do well nationally.
He has learnt from experience.
BAT has taken the country 10 years backwards.
Re: Can The Widespread Hunger Truly Influence Voters Decision In Favour Of Candidate by Guestmale: 11:01am On Aug 05
There is inflation leading to hunger in the country brought about by pms subsidy removal and floating of naira policies this government is implementing and this is exactly what the other top two presidential candidates promised to implement if they are voted in. My question is are they bringing back both pms and foreign exchange subsidies if voted for next year.
Re: Can The Widespread Hunger Truly Influence Voters Decision In Favour Of Candidate by Gerundphrase: 11:02am On Aug 05
Interesting logic. So whenever a policy makes life harder, we should just smile, pay up, and thank those who can still afford it? Holding the government and companies accountable isn't "blaming others"—it's called expecting better governance and fair value for what we pay.

I may partially agree with you. This you painted will happen in some parts but not all.

The question is, which will have the upper hand? This you painted or the others.

But if you ask me, i am thinking in your route too. cool

This question was already answered at the polls. Wasn't there widespread hunger before the last elections? .... and who did the public vote for? ... didn't they vote for the same gang? Even as we go through extreme sufferings ... aren't the people suffering the most already shouting for Tinubu to have another term? In general.... Nigerians don't consider if the person has shown the ability to govern the country ... the character of the person ... the track record of the person ... their deciding factor is based on tribe ... religion ... and region of origin.... as in we are voting/not voting for a Muslim/Muslim ticket ... the abilities and character of the candidates don't matter ... just their religion. If the main guy were Muslim ... and he chose Dangote as his running mate .... many will reject that ... but if he chooses Portable ... it will be ok ... good ticket ... Muslim/Christian.... we'll vote for him. Hunger or starvation will not change this mind set

Ridicule is often the refuge of those who can't refute the substance of an argument. Resorting to mockery doesn't strengthen your position; it only suggests you've run out of arguments. An easterner always find a way to survive. 45k for data a month can never put a hole in my pocket

Which experience?

The one who can't even answer a simple question, tell me the sectors tinubu is getting it wrong?

You better speak out about your predicaments without putting the frustration on those who knew nothing about it

You people at the opposition will be sounding as if you are more Nigerians than the others, that whatever you are experiencing, those who are supporting this government are immune to it

Everyone is a data boy, and when you see them mentioning the amount involved, you will be wondering if an abject poverty could have inspired that. N30k, N45k though na money but na token change. I was in my early 20's , I mean so early when I made my first million. You people should stop using penury mentality to be engaging with me

Nope. The candidates that cause the hunger will roll bags of rice and wave indomie in front of their eyes during campaign. And after distributing all these plus cash to them before elections will change the minds of the receivers to vote them again

Funny enough this hunger is what the politicians actually want..with 2k and rice, the hungry people votes them..when they successful win the election, people gets hungrier till election period they repeat the process..

I wonder when enough is actually enough in this country...
Tribalism, religion is what most are interested in than using their common sense

What do you guys even mean by "wide spread hunger" ?
Reducing elections to hunger oversimplifies politics. Desperate people don't suddenly stop weighing trust, competence, or identity. Hunger can shape choices, but it doesn't erase every other consideration.
