What happened to HEKAN and ECWA

Your religion isn't relevant to this sociological exchange. I am not catholic as well, but I've taken a careful look at northern denominations. Hekan, cocin, ecwa, nkst, lccn, among others, are only strong in their respective zones, but you will find the catholic church as strong as or even stronger than those aforementioned local churches in virtually all parts of the north. For instance, in plateau, the competition has historically been between cocin and the catholic church. In fact, that competition transcended politics where most govs are either cocin or catholic members. This duopoly had even permeated the marriage institution until a sort of accord was reached. Why was it not between the cocin and ecwa or ecwa and hekan.

In Benue, the dominance is between the catholic church and the nkst in zone a and b. In zone c while the catholic church dominates, the nkst is almost absent. Instead we have the Methodist church taking the place of the nkst.

In Kd south and central, the dominance is split almost two ways; Ecwa and the catholic church. You have to even count the Anglican church before hekan. In Taraba, nasarawa, Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Niger, Kwara and kogi, and so on, you still find the Catholics either dominating totally or sharing the Christian population with the local dominant church in respective strongholds.

That the catholic church boasts over 2 billion members globally isn't for nothing. The whole of subsaharan Africa is dominated by the Catholics, even before you start counting the Anglican church.

Tinubu has his work cut out, unless he has a way of placating the catholic church's leadership in Nigeria.
