So all government activities that require funding should stop? No explanation justifies this political victimization!

The rascality of the federal government is getting to new dangerous heights! The current regime in Aso Rock is taking too many liberties. And the worst part is that citizens are clapping for them. This trend portends serious danger.

If Osun state was annAPC state, would it had been frozen?

Let's tell ourselves the truth....

AMINDA:
This is illegal and unconstitutional. Tinubu spent the greater part of his tenure telling us to hold our governors accountable only to prove that he can actually do so by himself but only when his political dynasty is threatened. Same as the declaration of state of emergency in Rivers and the suspension of governor Fubara. The signs of an emerging Paul Biya is becoming too glaring to deny.
Except tinubu wont handle rorever

Requires the commission to apply to a court (often ex parte)for an order to freeze ACCOUNT SUSPECTED OF HOLDING CRIME PROCEEDS.

Does a state government account meet this defination?

Somebody recently said, "All is fair in politics." When the cardinals challenged him, he unleashed his attack dogs against them.

Now, who was really right?

Freezing a state government's bank account without a valid court order is one of the most brazen assaults on Nigeria's constitutional democracy. If the rule of law can be discarded for political convenience, then democracy itself is under attack.

Why EFCC Froze Osun State's Government Account

The EFCC excuse reads like a child's joke. If they are alarmed about funds movement and believe it may affect their investigation, then the right thing to do is approach the Court for the order to freeze the account. EFCC cannot resort to making themselves the Court in this matter. There action is ultra vires.
Re: Why We Froze Osun State's Government Account - EFCC by themanderon: 11:37am On Aug 06
It's only in opposition states that they usually notice these movements, why so? Don't governors in the APC also make movements?

Same response you Tinubu supporters give, you are telling me to look for your evidence to back up your own claim, like telling me you have a car but I should go look for the car...

That's how illogical and irrational you people reason...

It is not morally justified, that's why the law is not perfect, something can be legal under the law and not morally just, like in the western countries, a child can call police to arrest his parents for scolding him/her when he/she does wrong, is it legal? yes, is it morally justified ? No...

So you can use the law legally and not be morally justified, that's what you people are doing with Tinubu...

That's why Nigeria is the way it is today, the more you people keep doing this and you want the country to progress the way it should, all because of supremacy ideology...

Account suspected of holding crime proceeds.

This is subject to varied interpretation. Some authorities stated that it includes accounts suspected to have movements that suggest crime. This captures inflow and outflow. It's more reflective of the minds of the makers of the law.

On the above note, yes a state government account can meet the definition.

Anyway, if this is how it is, the commission is right. I hope it is investigating APC controlled states also.
Has the commission ever investigated Lagos state?

The gov has to engage an auditing firm. If Osun governor did not, the secret would not be out which is why the Osun governor should be praised. Any audit of any state account will most probably produce exactly the same result
