It was pointless to freeze the accounts in the first place, not a week to elections. APC would have lost.

I would suggest politicians are extremely careful in handling Osun state. in 2011, they went against directive and voted for Nuhu Ribadu.

In 2023, they voted against Tinubu to send a clear message.

The governor painted the freezing of the account as victimisation. That can ruin APC's chances not only in the governorship elections, but the presidential elections.

It was an overreach by EFCC even though they had a good reason to suspect funds are being diverted for political patronage.

Kudos to Mr. President for making this call. It is the only sensible and democratic decision in this matter. No matter how convenient it may be for the APC, an undemocratic precedent that attacks the heart of the sacred principle of separation of powers and independence of each level of government should not be allowed.
