Lol is the Enugu giving him same ROI as Lagos?

Unless you've not run a business before is only Lagos you can inflate price of things and still sell if you try it in other places u will be ur only customer..
That's not relevant. The poster was mocking him for not following through on his promise to invest back home and I'm pointing out that he actually did.

Of course such business will mostly boom in Lagos the center of Nigeria's entertainment and celebrations, nobody will argue this.

But what you must understand is that it is the gathering of all Nigerians in Lagos that made Lagos the thriving city it is not Tinubu not any singular man or woman but a collective effort and contribution of all Nigerians and Nigeria's federal government, so let no man or woman or region take the glory of Lagos.

Lagos is for all Nigerians because it was built and made the great city it is by all Nigerians and by federal government policies and massive investment in Lagos state.
Your cry is beautiful. The federal government vacated Lagos FCT and handed it back to it's Yoruba owners almost 40 years ago, and some people are still wailing about it. Federal surrendered all its investments and infrastructure as RENT to the land owners for the period of their occupation.

Lagos FCT, Lagos City and Lagos State resolutely remains the patrimony of the indigenous yoruba people - the Egbas, the Ijebus and the Aworis and Eguns in Badagry.

And YES! Asiwaju Tinubu built LAGOS.

Your claims are wind in the air!!!

LMAO getting more ROI isn't relevant to an investor...

Ok na...

People don't have problem starting a business at home but what matters is can the home state meet up or give them the ROI they're looking for.

U think is everyone that Japa to another country that's getting it right not all but they know one is still better than one....

Oyekashy, just hold it there.
That you don't know your history doesn't mean others suffer the same misfortune.

The so called Lagos federal territory is lagos island. Ikoyi, Victoria island, yaba, and lagos island. What you call lagos today (Epe, lekki, oniru, surulere, badagry, ikeja, isolo, ikorodu, badagry, agege and so on we’re never under federal Control. They were never called lagos or part of lagos. The were part of the western region and developed by the Western Regional government.

What was Lagos federal territory is only 8% of the land mass of lagos state.

All the industrial estates from ilupeju to isolo to ikeja to Ogba to Apapa were all developed by Awolowo not by the Federal govt! lekki express way was constructed by Jakande not federal! I can go on.
PLEASE SAY IT LOUDER!! LOUDER AND LOUDER!!!!

They think everything is by shouting and insulting people.

I understand the argument about Lagos being the safest market for investment, but nation building cannot be reduced to investing only where the returns are already guaranteed. If every major investor keeps thinking this way, Lagos will continue to attract everything while other states remain underdeveloped, and that eventually creates the same problems we complain about in Lagos: congestion, unaffordable housing, traffic and pressure on infrastructure.
Take the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, for example. The investment wasn't simply about putting a stadium where the biggest immediate market was. It helped put Uyo on the map, attract events, improve tourism and create economic activity around the facility. That's what people-centric investment should look like.
Investment should certainly be strategic, but it should also be people-centric. If we always ask, “Where will I make the quickest and safest profit?” without asking “What can this investment do for the development of this community?”, then we are building Lagos, not Nigeria.
Lagos cannot continue to carry the entire country on its back. We need viable economic centres in Uyo, Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Ilorin, Benin, Abeokuta, Kaduna and other cities. Develop the infrastructure, create opportunities and make those places attractive for businesses and people. Nation building requires spreading opportunity, not endlessly concentrating it in one city.
That is the work of the state governors to attract investment to their states. Could be through incentives, infrastructure development, joint funding etc.

You can not tell a private investor to go invest in a dead zone. He must get ROI, so a location that profit is guaranteed will continue to attract private investors. If you want to build a nation, that is on your president, and if you want your state to be a commercial hub, that is on your governor.

Only a mad man will go site 20,000 seater event center in Iragbiji or Agulu

Thank you for your attention to this matter

Banter aside, unless governors outside Lagos put their thinking caps on, Lagos will remain the centre for so much development!

Dangote would have sited his refinery in Ogun state until they pushed him to Lagos!

Multinational oil companies had their head offices in the Niger Delta states until they got pushed to Lagos and Abuja!

Nobody will site a business just because I want to "develop the place"...nope...doesn't work that way!

Develop your state... create a market...then woo investors...the rest is cake-walk!

Brotherly,

If Lagos state successive governors are as complacent as all these lazy ass governors will investors keep running there. And the funny part is that their people will not hold them responsible but be making stvpid excuses of Lagos water.

20,000 capacity event centre! 🔥

Bold, resilient and unshaken.

he should rather build it in Onitsha Anambra. He gaslighted the government and now one of the biggest beneficiaries of the riad he once criticised

Igbos should redouble their efforts to buy and develop all the available lands in Lagos to push other contenders out of the state.

I asked Nairaland to penalize those fools who always make provocative tribal and ethnic remarks on this forum and my post was instantly banned. Now I know why there is so much tribal bigotry. ethnic sentiments and bad blood here on Nairaland.

This leaves so much for me to wonder

Civil war came, you surrendered to a Yoruba man and placed your destiny in his hands.
