PHOTOS: Fubara hosts Rivers APC guber candidate, Wike-backed reconciliation panel

Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, on Sunday received members of the reconciliation committee of the rainbow coalition at the government house in Port Harcourt.

The committee, which is backed by Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was led by Magnus Abe, chairman of the board of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The rainbow coalition is a cross-party political alliance in Rivers state, spearheaded by Wike to unite politicians across party lines in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The reconciliation committee was established after Wike declared an end to the protracted political feud with Fubara.

he might not even be the choice of the coalition.

I don't see Wike submitting his entire structure to APC especially the house of assembly. He needs to have them where he is in full control and that is PDP.

Wike understand and has tasted political betrayals, the most loyal can easily switch.
If APC takes the structure, Wike may have to fight another battle after 2027, and this time he may be fighting the entire APC structure, not just Rivers state

Wike will soon abandon Tinubu as the matter dey evolve.

As weak as the incumbent might appear, something tells me has one last ace up his sleeve and Wike and his cohort may be blindsided by their apparent victory in their political scuffle.

The reconciliation process should not be limited to a select group of political actors. If genuine peace, unity, and stability are the objective, then Governor Fubara's key allies and supporters should also be brought to the table. Individuals such as Jumbo, Edison, Ochumati, Chijoke, and others who stood firmly with him throughout the political crisis should not be left out of the discussions.

In the same vein, leaders and stakeholders like Boma Goodhead, as well as members of the Senate and House of Representatives who may have lost opportunities for a return ticket due to the political realignments, deserve to be part of the reconciliation process. Lasting peace can only be achieved when all affected parties are given a voice and an opportunity to air their grievances, concerns, and expectations.

True reconciliation is not about rewarding a few individuals or political camps; it is about healing divisions, rebuilding trust, and ensuring that no group feels marginalized or abandoned after making sacrifices during difficult times. An inclusive approach will strengthen the outcome of the peace process and foster a more united political environment for the benefit of Rivers State and its people.

You don't know what these people belong in the secret. Do you think fubara would just be behaving so weak deliberately ? These men are in cult. They swear an oath of secrecy before they give or accept anything, which members of the public know nothing about.

That's why some of them behave anyhow. If the public like, let them shout foul or protest from now till tomorrow, it won't change anything except they take or change a decision in their secret place. That's why Nigeria isn't moving forward. That's why we've been advocating good governance cos only those who don't belong to their evil caucus can truly move this country forward and step on their toes. They used federal forces to blackmail him.
That's my best guess..
It is either he is mirred in lots of corruot cases and the federal government working in tandem with Wike promised him a safe landing if he never challenges them and walks away with his loot peacefully..
They most probably will never arrest him or charge him for any crime after he goes..
You can easily be blackmailed in situations like this..
