| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by olyrayy(m): 7:56am On Aug 10 |
AMINDA:Damn. Had no idea Atiku swept through the North like this, even with Buhari alive. But Tinubu did come a close second in most Northern states. Also, looking at the results in Zamfara, which was the only state that Tinubu won a commanding majority, I can see why he refuses to touch Mattawale.

tishbite41:Obi had a Northerner as his running mate, so it was not Obi who got all the 2 million votes for himself in the North as you are implying. |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by HIGHESTPOPORI(m): 8:45am On Aug 10 |
opes:Yes,in 2023,most people knew voting Kwankwanso in the North is wasted vote, that's why they didn't support him and him pairing with Obi now, they know he have a high chance to win, they will support him more |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by HIGHESTPOPORI(m): 8:49am On Aug 10 |
opes:Obi had a northerner that couldn't win his polling booth, compared to Kwankwanso he has now. |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by opes: 9:35am On Aug 10 |
HIGHESTPOPORI:So, they will abandon their own son, Atiku, and settle for playing second fiddle? Or jettison the presidency that is coming to them in 2031 by not voting for APC, only to decide to wait until 2039? |

olyrayy:Tinubu has the likes of Elrufai to thank for that. Elrufai's messaging during the electioneering campaign resonated across the North and had an effect on the conscience of most Northerners. Tinubu ended up betraying him. Matawalle lost his own re-election as an incumbent governor. If Tinubu is keeping him as a minister, it's not because he singlehandedly delivered his state. Brace up for the APC using more Sheikhs to rile up Christians so they can react and have Muslims supporting Tinubu’s muslim-muslim ticket but it's an exercise in futility. Tinubu will only end up losing from both ends. The minds of Northerners are largely made up. P.S: It's already happening and it's not random. It's coordinated.

| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by AMINDA: 9:59am On Aug 10 |
opes:Northern Christians are not falling for the gaslighting any longer. APC lackeys claimed Tinubu went ahead with Muslim-Muslim ticket because he couldn't find a Christian Northerner popular enough to be his Vice after teasing them with the ticket for years in order to buy their support. Now, they are claiming Tinubu will handover to a Christian Northerner. This is just them trying to eat from two pots at the same time. If Northern Christians aren't good enough for Vice, is it for the main seat that Tinubu will now find someone popular enough to handover to? |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by AMINDA: 10:01am On Aug 10 |
opes:You sef dey laugh at their logic abi? Is like saying the Southwest would have voted overwhelmingly for Seyi Makinde as Vice to Atiku against Tinubu. They always claim their own region is on lockdown for Tinubu but still believe other regions will jettison their own son to vote Tinubu. No be juju be that? |

| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by Sugarboyy(m): 10:21am On Aug 10 |
olajizz01:What these northern politicians haven't realised is that they have all lost values in the south. Imagine Atiku doesn't score upto 1m votes in the whole of the 17 Southern States in 2027 election. How he go take win? Same way Obi will do badly in states like Kebbi, Yobe, Zamfara, Jigawa and Sokoto |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by Sugarboyy(m): 10:28am On Aug 10 |
AMINDA:Prior to the 2007 election, Yar adua wasn't popular but with the support of the ruling party then, he won the election and even beat popular Buhari in Katsina state. You just don't understand the power of incumbency and ruling party in a national elections. With a Northern Christian on the ballot under the ruling party, he may likely win all the 6 NC states, win the SW with support of Tinubu, win most of the SS states and score okay in the 5 SE states. Not forgetting Christian votes in the core northern states |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by Sugarboyy(m): 10:30am On Aug 10 |
olyrayy:Buhari was alive but him and his cronies never supported or voted Tinubu |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by AMINDA: 10:38am On Aug 10 |
Sugarboyy:Tinubu is currently an incumbent. If he couldn't find a popular Northern Christian to pick as Vice in order to win, how does he then intend to impose a Northern christian to succeed him in 2031 when he will be on his way out of power (assuming he wins). If he can't do it now, why later? Answer the simple question. I put it to you that it's his classic way of deception. He just need them to vote for his muslim-muslim ticket. That's all. |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by Sugarboyy(m): 10:50am On Aug 10 |
AMINDA:It wasn't about picking a northern Christian politician to deputise him, it's about betraying Shettima who has been loyal to him and his government and he wasn't ready to betray Shettima. Tinubu is not known to be a political betrayal, unlike Obi and Atiku that cares only about their ambitions. Even me would have been disappointed in him if he had dropped Shettima for anyone else. Loyalty doesn't come easy in politics and Shettima have it. Imagine a VP that's even loyal to his state governor. |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by AMINDA: 10:57am On Aug 10 |
Sugarboyy:Lol. You must think you are talking to your fellow lackeys. Same Shettima that has refused to move to the 26 billion naira bugged residence that Tinubu wanted to banish him to? Same Shettima that he has never trusted enough to make acting president even for one day? Same Shettima that he left speculations about replacing until the very last day? If Shettima is as loyal as you claim, certainly he would understand if Tinubu decides to replace him in order to balance his ticket with a Christian, wouldn't he? The only reason why Tinubu didn't end up replacing Shettima is because he failed to consolidate support across the South as he would have liked because of Obi being in the race. Why did you think "turn of the South" died a natural death as a campaign mantra of the APC? They have now moved on to "Muslims are more many than Christians" and "Catholic Bishops are not Christians". |

opes:Kwankwanso is contesting in 2031,it has been signed already,so you now confirm Atiku would win the North and Obi would win the South, where would tinubu now win,SW only that even Lagos would be shared |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by olyrayy(m): 12:55pm On Aug 10 |
AMINDA:So, how did he win Zamfara like that? It's the only landslide for him in the North West. |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by olyrayy(m): 12:55pm On Aug 10 |
Sugarboyy:Yes. They didn't campaign vigorously for him. But they also didn't support Atiku. So, the chips fell where they may. Now that Buhari is dead, the North might make Atiku their champion. |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by AMINDA: 1:01pm On Aug 10 |
olyrayy:The messaging from the likes of Elrufai urging Northerners to keep their word and maintain the "amana (trust)". The reason why the North is not agitating much about the unjust incarceration of Elrufai is because they need a reason to justify why they will no longer be voting for Tinubu. I'm sure it's also the same reason why even Elrufai is not to keen on perfecting his bail terms, asides it being malicious. Its called "Narrative setting". Whether good or bad, the North will always repay its debts. Votes are not easily rigged in the North, Northerners vote by conviction.

| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by opes: 1:24pm On Aug 10 |
HIGHESTPOPORI:Obi also won the South in 2023, but he never became president. APC has structures that are spread across the country. Atiku will win the Northern votes, with APC coming second. Don’t expect Obi to win the Southern votes as he did in 2023, the dynamics have changed. APC’s presence in the Southeast now ain't necessarily about winning the region, but about preventing the kind of irregularities witnessed in 2023 from being repeated in 2027. Obi won’t get many votes in the North, just as Atiku will be a distant third in the South. The Makinde presidency will even compete with Obi for the dissenting votes of Southerners who are opposed to APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket. |

Why didn't El Rufai's urging have similar effect in the other states? |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by Sugarboyy(m): 1:45pm On Aug 10 |
olyrayy:Thank God you said the north "Might". Firstly never forget Atiku has never for once had cult followership in the North, he only had supporters that can change their minds against him with goodies facing them. Secondly, only northern votes can never make anyone president, Buhari showed it. And Atiku can not get upto 2m votes in the whole of SS,SE,SW and NC. So how will the north give him 8-10m votes to win the 2027 election? In my Edo State, ADC as a party doesn't exist, infact NDC doesn't exist in the whole Edo North and Edo Central (Except for Uromi, Esan North Esan because of NDC senatorial Candidate for Edo Central, Yakubu who is very popular in Uromi because of his performance when he was the LGA Chairman). |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by AMINDA: 1:47pm On Aug 10 |
olyrayy:Because a formidable Atiku who is from the North was also in the race. Elrufai can only try. He wouldn't rig the elections for Tinubu or spill the blood of his own people just to deliver him as was done in other states like Rivers. Tinubu ended up getting 5.6m votes from the North and it proved to be enough. That's all that mattered because even Tinubu could not deliver himself in Lagos and Osun. |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by Sugarboyy(m): 1:51pm On Aug 10 |
opes:I agree to everything you said except the Makinde narrative. Makinde won't score upto 200k votes in 2027 election and 99% of the votes will come from Oyo State. In the whole of SE and SE, nobody knows Makinde and in other states of the SW, they are seeing him as a spoiler to Tinubu presidency in Oyo State. And I make bold to say, if Makinde fails to step down and support Tinubu, he will be incarcerated all through Tinubu second term and majority of Yorubas will never forgive him, same way they are treating Osibanjo for daring to contest APC primary with Tinubu |
| Re: 2027: Battle For North West Heats Up by AMINDA: 1:58pm On Aug 10 |
Sugarboyy:Incarceration has now become a word we bandy around against political opponents who refuse to bend the knee. That's the legacy of the NADECO democracy. Tinubu himself never supported Obasanjo for 8 years but no one Incarcerated him. Bring the Incarceration on. Seyi Makinde is not a coward. Why should Makinde support Tinubu? Are they in the same political party? Does Seyi Makinde owe Tinubu anything? Kwankwaso left the APC and contested against Buhari, but Buhari never incarcerated him. Buhari is a better democrat than Tinubu will ever hope to be. |
