Fair point. Still, there are things that are not feelings induced... They just are. While there are people that base their beliefs on feelings there are others that have experienced it. It's not advisable to compare sleep with death.

God is truth and logic is a medium of attaining such truth. The belief in God has its own rationale and it's not based on feelings induced by the works of chemicals in the brain. Well, not to generalize it, at least my belief isn't based on my feelings.

Do you accept that something can be logical and still false?

I will first answer.
There is no country on this planet where my fellow believers in Christ are not preaching and teaching so they tell us what is happening in the most interior part of all these countries so as to know how we can help those who have become members of our faith.

How do you help? Do you give them food, shelter or clothing? Do you alleviate their suffering in any way?

Human emotions and imagination often make us mistake feelings for divine revelation. If God is truth itself, then the way to know God is through reason, not private experiences. A belief should be accepted because it is rational , not simply because it “feels”like God told you so.

If it wasn't for the dates, I would not believe you are on nairaland till August. I thought you were never coming here again. I have gained a lot of insight in your posts on here. In fact after like a year of reading your post, I searched for you but it wasn't bringing your username up. I started reading your post about 2 years ago when I was in hell I created unknowingly for myself and I've come a long way since. I've not gotten to Heaven but I'm sure I'm past the halfway there. Though I just seem to attract different Christians at this stage of my life and the funny thing is at least 3(Christian group) of them are telling me about how theirs is the truth and how the other is false. And though I told them at least 2 groups that I don't want to fall under any label of religion and I believe I'm God and God is me but they just continue trying to convince me to follow religion path. Now my problem with them now is them trying to make me take a decision of identifying with one of them. These people have never met o, but when they invite me to service and I tell the other I would not be able to come because I'm attending another service that's how they come about me deciding to choose one. When my decision is to choose none but how can I tell them. I just want to leave my life but this people are leaving me exhausted. In fact I'm thinking of running of next week or upper for at least 2 weeks to rest mentally as I have to achieve financial breakthrough this year.

Yeah they do. I see it first hand.

Thou you will see I use they not we because I've made my decision not to follow any religion but they are still trying to bring me back to the fold. And you are forgetting the "donations" that are not donations, they take from their own members and shun if they refuse. Like tithe but donation means mandatory to them and none of it goes to charity.

Not strictly true. Pastors its true for because that is their income. But I was specifically pointing at the force and punishment in one particular religion and it ignoring free will and if the people can afford it or not.

I agree that churches use a varying level of coercion on their members to get them to give their money, some more egregious than others. I am not familiar with JW money practices in this regard. How do they collect it, is it on a weekly or monthly basis?

No I can't, because we were shown the video on a TV at one of their meetings I attended. It was like an update on what's happening to their members all over the world. There's a man that's like a newscaster a white man giving updates, coming programs, challenges etc. where the language is translated to the language of the meeting ( I attend the Yoruba meeting). So on that particular day it was of a country hit recently by earthquake, so they showed us how they send help not only to their members but non members too. Though their members being there is the main reason they will help all who needs help in that area. You understand right?

Read what you said. It was a reply to that. ALOT of Catholic organisations invest then support charities from the return on that investment.

So to clarify they take the donations and invest it then use the return on the investment. Thats a distinction alot of people ignore. And im an atheist so I will correct this misunderstanding whenever I have to.

My bad, when I say platform I mean their pulpit, just that they don't call it that, they call it platform. Same way they call their Sunday service meetings and not service. I'm already feeling like a witness, JK. I'm just human and that's all I will be.

Im not 100% sure. I know a few things because I dated one here in Nigeria and they were bloody cruel to her because of what I am. So I only know from how much they took thats not the whole organisation. The same she did not once attempt to convert me because she was not the whole organisation.

And you have remember I have a built in bias because back home they are "considered" pests. And emphasis on the considered. Its not hate. Its annoyance.

Your freedom to think is worth protecting. If these different groups al claim absolute truth yet contradict each other, reason demands that you question them rather than surrender your mind to one. Choose none if none convinces you.

It is only evil oppressors and people with skeletons in their cupboards who say "don't question"

How do you reason without experience?

Were you not told "do not put your hands in the fire it would burn you", but you went ahead and still did it anyway?

And funny it is still the same reason that made you do so.
