It's a shame!
It baffles me how some Nigerians allowed themselves to be used by politicians to commit electoral fraud that will later affect them at the long run. I mean, I can't comprehend the level of creed that has eating deep into the fabrics of some individuals! I dare to ask, how much is really enough to continue to bungled the future of generations unborn? I say how much?! I feel so sad to hear news like this in these time and era! 🤦

Police are paradinga ND invading personal houses of all strong politicians around the Ede axis where Adeleke is expected to hold sway...

Nobody is doing any commando arrest around the Ambo axis..infact, those previously caught by the navy were released and the arresting officer angrily transfered out of that state..

What difference does this make? He is arrested ... confessed ... but not charged. The others at the hotel ... same thing ... arrested ... but not charged. Is this how democracy works? ... is this how we intend to have fair elections and discourage rigging and thuggery? What message is this sending? If they are all charged and remanded as they should... it will serve as a deterrent to others . The imported voters should be fined at least ten times what they were offered ... and spend some time in prison. A message need to be sent. ..... loud and clear.

The Osun State Police Command has arrested a serving member of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiola Ibrahim Inaolaji, alongside 146 suspected electoral mercenaries camped at his residence in Ikire.

The lawmaker, who represents Irewole/Isokan State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, was arrested on Friday night during a police operation. More than 200 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) were reportedly recovered during the operation.

In a video clip, Ibrahim was seen making a preliminary statement in which he identified himself and allegedly confessed to facilitating the movement of the 146 suspects into Osun State from neighbouring states for the purpose of voting in the election.

The arrest is part of intensified security operations by the police ahead of the election, as the command moves to prevent activities capable of undermining the credibility of the electoral process.

In a separate operation at Babs Hotel, located behind the State High Court in Ede, operatives of the Anti-Robbery Section and the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) arrested 33 suspected electoral mercenaries.

The suspects comprised 30 males and three females and were arrested following credible intelligence about the presence of a group of persons allegedly assembled for suspicious electoral activities.

According to the police, preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were brought into Osun State from Ondo State to participate in unlawful electoral activities.

The suspects reportedly told investigators that they were recruited by a yet-to-be-identified politician, who allegedly facilitated the procurement of voters’ cards for them and instructed them to vote in exchange for financial rewards.

Four voters’ cards were recovered from the suspects and taken into police custody as exhibits.

The command said investigations had commenced to identify and apprehend other accomplices still at large and to unravel the full extent of the alleged network involved in the recruitment of electoral mercenaries, voter inducement and other related offences.
