When Anambra Didn't Matter, But Suddenly Osun Predicts 2027!- by CharlesCNG(op): 10:35pm On Aug 16
The political gymnastics of these obidients are becoming Olympic standard.

They are so shameless. I call them Approbrate on Monday. Reprobate on Tuesday obidients!!

Last year, Peter Obi went home to Anambra for an off-season governorship election.

What happened?

His Labour Party lost Obi's own polling unit.

Even worse, LP's governorship candidate was comprehensively rejected statewide.

Soludo/APGA: 422,664.
APC: 99,445
LP: 10,576

Soludo swept ALL 21 LGAs.

What did we hear then?

"OBI WAS NOT ON THE BALLOT!"
Peter obi has lost lost ALL off-season election since 2023.
"OBI WAS NOT ON THE BALLOT!"
😂😂😂

Fair enough.

An off-season governorship election apparently couldn't tell us anything about Peter Obi's presidential strength.

Fast-forward to Osun 2026.

Adeleke defeats APC in another off-season governorship election and suddenly:

"THIS PROVES TINUBU WILL LOSE IN 2027!

Ah! 😂

So an off-season election in Obi's own Anambra tells us nothing about Obi...

…but an off-season election in Osun is suddenly an opinion poll on Tinubu's presidency?

Approbrate on Monday. Reprobate on Tuesday.

You cannot eat your analytical cake and still have it.

And there is another inconvenient number.

Tinubu scored 343,945 votes in Osun in 2023.

APC has just polled 444,815 votes in 2026.

That's 100,870 MORE VOTES than Tinubu received there in 2023.

Does that automatically mean Tinubu will win Osun in 2027?

NO.

And that's precisely the point!

Governorship and presidential elections are different contests with different candidates, coalitions, turnout patterns and local dynamics.

If that principle protected Obi after the Anambra disaster, the same principle must apply to Tinubu after Osun.

Otherwise, this isn't analysis.

It is like a football fan saying a friendly match doesn't count when his team loses, then using his rival's friendly defeat to predict who will win the Champions League.

🤣🤣🤣

And what about the supposedly formidableADC third force?

Despite having former governor Rauf Aregbesola behind Najeem Salaam, ADC finished a distant third.

Aregbesola couldn't even deliver his own polling unit:

APC – 256
Accord – 43
ADC – 13

Yet we are supposed to conclude from Osun that the emerging opposition coalition is roaring towards 2027?

Please!

Adeleke won. Congratulate him.

APC lost. Let APC study why.

But don't transform Adeleke's personal incumbency victory into a presidential referendum while simultaneously insisting that Soludo's annihilation of LP in Peter Obi's backyard told us absolutely nothing about Peter Obi.

There is a name for that:

HEADS I WIN, TAILS TINUBU LOSES POLITICS.

If Anambra was "Obi wasn't on the ballot," then intellectual consistency demands:

TINUBU WASN'T ON THE BALLOT IN OSUN EITHER.

You cannot change the measuring tape simply because you don't like the man being measured.

I didn’t bother reading everything you wrote, but you have already affirmed what we Igbo have been saying all along: we support candidates based on their competence and our belief in their ability to lead, not simply because they are related to us or belong to our ethnic group.

For instance, in 2023, many Igbos supported Peter Obi because we genuinely believed he was the most trustworthy and capable among the candidates. If Osinbajo had been given the presidential ticket, I believe 95% of Igbos would have equally thrown their support behind him because we believed he was the best candidate and also a kind of had the power of incumbency.

So, Listen again, our support is not about ethnicity; it is about who we believe can deliver good leadership and move the country forward.

Obidients are not to be taken seriously. They will go to the wilderness after the 2027 elections. They don't understand the dynamics of the sophisticated south west people. For instance, we are 100% APC in my area, but we mobilised and voted massively for Adeleke just to checkmate Oyetola's overbearing influence, and due to Adelekes performance. This has nothing to do with party system. Infact we had wished Adeleke to be APC candidate but Oyetola blocked him. If you want to know Tinubu's figure in Osun State in 2027, tally Accord plus the APC votes cheesy

I think people should understand that the ride-on-Obi bandwagon will not work again. Obi's supporters want are not led as sheep to the slaughter. They know who the want and it's Peteru Okwute. All others are counterfeit

You expect people to believe this, really?

The Ndigbo LP vote for Peter Obi of 85% and over was pretty shameful, it was nothing to do with trustworthyness or whatever else, we all know it.

As for your Prof Osinbajo talk, very funny.

YOU DIDN’T READ THE ARTICLE—SO WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU REBUTTING? 😂

You started your response with:

“I didn’t bother reading everything you wrote…”

Then what exactly are you responding to?

That is like refusing to read the exam question and confidently submitting an answer.

Because if you had actually finished the article, you would have discovered that Igbo voting patterns were not even my argument.

You then went on a long excursion about Igbos voting for competence and claimed 95% would have voted for Osinbajo.

Fine.

I won't even follow you down that rabbit hole. I wont be distracted y your pathetic attempt at deflection.

COME BACK TO THE ARTICLE.

My argument was very simple:

When Peter Obi's Labour Party was humiliated in the Anambra off-season governorship election—even losing Obi's polling unit—the defence from his supporters was:

“OBI WAS NOT ON THE BALLOT!”

I said: Fair enough.

A governorship election is not automatically a presidential referendum.

Now APC loses a off-season governorship election in Osun and suddenly the same people shout:

“THIS PROVES TINUBU WILL LOSE IN 2027!”

That is the contradiction I challenged.

If Anambra could not predict Obi's presidential strength because Obi wasn't on the ballot , then intellectual consistency demands exactly the same standard in Osun:

TINUBU WASN'T ON THE BALLOT EITHER.

Notice something else: my article even explicitly said APC's higher Osun vote in 2026 does NOT automatically mean Tinubu will win Osun in 2027.That was precisely my point.

Different elections. Different candidates. Different dynamics.

So before taking us on another grand tour of Igbo voting philosophy, perhaps do one small thing first:

The same Peter obi that anambrarians cursed in 2013 for being a useless governor is the same person the obidients are presenting as the BEST presidential candidate. Make it make sense, the same person that couldn't govern a single state wants to govern Nigeria. Fear no even catch una?
We will all be here when he lose the 2027 presidential election again, the obidients and the Biafrans will go back to wanting their own country.
They claimed Nigeria is zoo, yet they want to rule Nigeria... Continue

You can twist to suit your narrative

But the fact is PO was just an ordinary Nigeria with no elective position during last Anambra election.

Besides, Anambra is traditionally an APGA state. They vote APGA in honour of their great son, Ojukwu.

Osun on the other hand Osun as moved from different parties: ad, sdp, apc, pdp, accord, so the state was up for the taking by any party.

tinubu unlike PO is the president. It is expected that osun state should align with his man.

Re: When Anambra Didn't Matter, But Suddenly Osun Predicts 2027!- by FSBoperator: 8:08am On Aug 17
Obidients expecting Yoruba Muslim majority in Osun to vote their Obi is the height of delusion.

Osun state is heavily skewed towards party politics both at the centre and more at the state level .

They voted Atiku in 2007 against Yaradua because Atiku was running under the ACN which was both the ruling party in Osun and the regional political structure in the SW.

In 2011, following an informal secret back door agreement with Tinubu, Jonathan won Osun state . The ACN candidate lost.

In 2015, the same Osun voted Buhari over Jonathan because ACN had entered an alliance with the CPC to form APC and the governor of Osun was now in APC and the entire region of the SW save Ondo was APC.

In 2019, Osun state voted for Buhari's re-election showing strong party sentiments.

In 2023 , Osun voted for Atiku of the PDP and this can be traced to the governor being in PDP and the likes of Rauf Aregbesola working against Tinubu's ambition .

This is why it was important for APC to win Osun because party plays a very big roll in Osun politics.

What is very sure is that Adeleke will be working for one of the presidential candidates come 2027.

Will Adeleke still work for Atiku or will he mobilize for Tinubu following his pledge to support Tinubu's re election.

As for Obi and his obidient mob, dem no dey game.
