South Korea was the third largest foreign military contributor in Iraq behind US & UK. They also sent large number of soldiers to help US in Afghanistan.

How is this a bad move?

It is a bad move for so many reasons;

1) DPRK does not recognize Samsung Republic.
2) The two are legally still at war because they didn't sign any peace treaty after the war. It is considered one of the longest ceasefire in human history.

3) North Korea have a thriving sovereign ballistic missile industry & nuclear technology.

4) Pyongyang, can wake up tomorrow and decide to annex Samsung, for them there's only one Korea in the Korea Peninsula.

5) South Korea didn't send soldiers to Iraq and Afghanistan to fight American wars in the Middle East so that in 2026, Trump will start reducing military exercise with Seoul. In this period of time Seoul only have one eternal enemy.

6) South Korea saying they want to formally end the Korean is total bs cox DPRK want unification. Just like China is hoping to unify with Taiwan. There's only one way to achieve unification in Korea as far as Seoul is housing American troops.

7) The government of South Korea asking for Diplomacy/negotiations to end the war will not move Pyongyang. Why because diplomacy is also war by other means. Not when you have 28,000 US soldiers stationed in your country. We have seen Israel/US requesting for negotiation with Hamas. Hamas political leadership traveled to Qatar to negotiate, Israel/US bombed their hotel.
