Please I am seeking help from Vet doctors here to help me because my boreboel have been suffering from this thing it keep reoccurring, I have used all sorts of ointment on them, it happens mostly in their paw and that leg/waist area. I once treated them of this and it came back again and this time it would always happen in the exact same spot as the last one . I have bathed them with Damacure , even disinfectant for tick lice etc yet same occurrence . Please this has been happening for months on end , like it's a constant issue. @seunH please you once helped me but the issue is persistent

majortwild:Good morning sir, been a while and good to hear from you. First of all, you'll have to change from Damacure to Amitraz since you aren't seeing any positive changes with the Damacure. Secondly continue with your treatment against tick and lice, you can change to Fipronil if you aren't seeing any effect. Then lastly manage the wound by spraying with Oxytet spray or GV( it's available in any human pharmacy store). In addition, you can administer over the counter broad spectrum antibiotics like Amoxicillin, 1 tablet (500mg) per day for 5 days. I'll be on standby for updates. Note if you observe any side effect or adverse reaction, share update immediately. |

majortwild:It's possible that some of these ectoparasites hide in holes or burrows around where your pet stays. Fumigation might help. |

Well its a very simple thing, just an ULCER * Regular BATHE at least 2 weeks with proper right skin and FUR SOAP. *make sure wher the dog SIT and SLEEP is not a HASH surface. *u might need a medic AIDES to cover that spot till totally HEALED, if ur DOG keep putting SALIVA and TEETH, it wont be HEALLED anf might even have INFECTION from that! * proper IODINE or BLUE will be helpful and properly cover against the DOG'S MOUTH out of REACH! * Youn also need to fumigate the area along with the TREATMENT time, it could be LICE, BED BUG or TICK infection *Then u might need to take for proper TEST to KNOW if its not from the BLOOD the contamination is from. BE WARNED bfr e turn BIG ISH oo

I want to believe your dog is infected by mango fly. A kind of maggot that comes out from their body. Occurs mostly during rainy season. It affects humans too. The fly lay eggs on their body, even on clothes spread outside. It's why it's important to iron ur clothes. Let's ignore the human part and focus on the dog since it's the main topic. If u press the wound, there is a great chance worms will come out. Scan the entire body well, u will see them. After the worms comes out, the hole will seal itself so no need to worry much. Unto say ur dog na foreign breed, best u carry am go vet. If na bingo, wen u remove them, dey will be alright. Go to YouTube and search mango fly removal on dogs. I wish the dog a quick recovery. |

majortwild:It looks like hotspot. Get mangeq ointment and apply it on the wound. Get broad killer, spray on the dog for the dog to kill flies. I believe all will be healed within 2 weeks |
| Re: Help Dog In Distress! by Coleman7(m): 6:22pm On Aug 21 |
Kindly make sure flies are not around the cage or habitat. Flies is the major cause. Flies can easily create such openings on dog's ear, leg or any part the smell strong on. |

I am no vet Doctor but my personal opinion. The wound on your dog ear usually happens when dog eat bird poo. There is an ointment (can't recollect the name, but it's in a small plastic with red cover) you can ask from vet clinic, it's very efficient. As for the wound on the hinge leg or lower part of the waist, you can get tetracycline capsule and mix with penicillin and apply to the affected area. Note again, I am not a vet doctor. My opinion is only derived from years of keeping dog. |

Very rubbish advice everywhere. Oga... 1. Get a soft bedding for your dog. The place they sleep is too hard 2. Go to a pet shop, and get fly repellent oil, gel or ointment to apply there 3. If the dog is fond of licking the spot, you'll need to get a Elizabethan collar for him till the wound is healed. Don't use any antibiotics medications or powders; only allow vets prescribe or administer them to your pets. |
