Peter Obi should stop trying to convince Nigerians of his ability to bring the much needed positive changes because the way and manner they ( Nigerians licking Tinubu ass) behave show that they Nigerians are not yet ready for change. Let Tinubu continue beyond 2027 so that they will see an highest level of government failures then their brains will be totally reset for a positive change and that's when they will listen to Peter Obi and then embrace him as the one to bring the positive changes Nigerians truly deisre. |

benardtotti:What is a lie in what I said and what ur brain AI told u...exorbitant payment it means to the state ...the FG went and agreed a fee with a union without state consultation.. Now state can't pay in full and said what they can pay which is also a jump increment, doctors refuse..is it Obi and doctors that agreed..? But the docs insisted he is the federal government..so he devices a way to keep the health sector going even when they struck... This led to unnoticed health care lapses...dude should be studied on how me managed to pull that off.. Oya ask your brains again what Obi did as an alternative and how the strike ended |

So finally Obi admitted what we have been saying since his followers make him into some great performer that his rule in Anambra was full of chaos. Religious war between Catholics vs Anglicans as Obi picked a side, doctors and nurses on strike for over one year, no school built, death of many youths in Esu River (worse than Lagos endsars), etc So by Obi's logic Tinubu is doing well because there is no mass death. How daft can one be? |

seunmsg:Yes, there are mass deaths in Nigeria following Tinubu's unguarded economic reforms. But there were no mass deaths in Anambra State following protracted strike by Doctors . Peter Obi has remained your hate point, because you know that Obi poses the greatest challenge to your Tinubu in 2027, not Atiku Abubakar. Obi won Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election. |

helinues:And the only way he got the striking doctors and also teachers to return to work was to activate the no work, no pay approach. He used hunger to force them to cancel their strikes. Also many Anambra state employed doctors and nurses left the employment of the state because Obi had signalled that he won't meet their demands. Note that the teachers were clamouring for Obi to pay Yaradua's #18,000 minimum wage which had already been overtaken by GEj's #30,000 increase. Anambra state civil servants were still collecting #8,000 minimum wage set by Obasanjo. The medical practitioners were demanding that Anambra state adopt the recent minimum salary and allowances that had been passed for all medical practitioners that their national body had successfully gotten from the Minister of Health. Another thing to note is that students in tertiary institutions had to drop out owing to the protracted strike and also the sharp increase in tuition fees Obi introduced He increased tuition fees for all levels of state owned institutions but refused to pay the staff the basic minimum wage and used to pay them their existing salaries while they were on strike to force them to return to work. The very poor could not afford his new increased tuition fees and had to withdraw their wards and send them out of state to states like Delta, Rivers and Lagos to enroll in free public schools there which also included payment by the state for WAEC and JAMB fees. The Obi of Onitsha even lamented at the growing number of drop out school children who had to work in bars and dishonorable establishments following Obi's total disregard for the welfare of the very poor citizens of Anambra. And what did Obi do with all that Federal allocations that weren't to both the state and Local govts in Anambra? He diverted it to his personal portfolio in the name of investment which the people of Anambra never saw a dime from it ever again. The man even refused to conduct lga elections so as to corner the funds meant for them thereby denying LGA autonomy and diverting said funds from being used for the people. This Obi deserves to be in prison serving a long sentence for corruption, theft and embezzlement and not to be a leading Presidential candidate. But I don't blame him because if Anambra people had held him to account for all the funds he stole as governor and still being the ones pushing him to run as President, we won't have this vapid idiotes and hypocrite disturbing our collective senses with his duplicity and gross ignorance. |

seunmsg:It's alright we are supposed to be supporting someone with drug trafficking and certificate forgery controversies, someone that doesn't even rate those he is leading to create time for over 3yrs in office to come out to address their concerns in public? We really thank God most nigerians don't reason like you or allowed themselves to be fooled. If not for tribal bigotry why will any sane human being be supporting a man with a well known documented history of drug trafficking to be his president and be hating a man with no such history or controversies of corruption? |

duro4chang:Infact I was perplexed when I read the headline. This is guy is not presidential at all. Atleast at this level of engagement he should have put together excellent media group to do this kind of job. He's just saying thrash as if he's talking to kindergarten boys. This not a best rejoinder for that kind of attack on him. He failed woefully. Obi needs thorough tutelage before he can think to seek presidential ticket. Infact he would have good to deputize Atiku now to learn the rob. It's not too late and chance of him becoming president is much more feasible thru that apprenticeship under Atiku. |

Right from the day Peter Obi told Bishop Oyedepo that the election was a religious war I lose whatever respect I had for him. That was not the kind of mentality we want from a presidential candidate. I had this impression that Mr. Obi was not who many people thought he was. |

This is why I said Obi is NOT different from any of our useless politicians ! So it is mass deaths that would signal that is was a bad decision to allow Doctors and Teachers strike for 13 months. You his supporters don’t see the wickedness in that statement? Just one avoidable death as a result of that decision is enough. Until it is 1000 deaths before he would have reconsidered the decision ? This man is no better than any of his counterparts . He is no saviour ! |
| Re: In 13 Months Of Doctors Strike In Anambra, There Were No Mass Deaths - Peter Obi by Thedon22: 10:24am On Aug 26 |
It was unprecedented anywhere in this country for doctors to be on strike for 13 months. It only happened in Anambra under Obi. What a record!!! The same man who claimed he left money for his successor while his citizens languished in poverty. The other time Reno asked him to point to any school he built from scratch in 8 years. He couldn't. Now doctors a3month strike challenge, he is still saying bunkum. Obi till date cannot show us pictures of roads built by him. So, what projects did he spend money on? So, what's the essence of keeping money when nothing was financed? Thank God we dodged the bullet last time. |

seunmsg:Anambra doctors' strike lasted 13 months and ended in February 2012. At the time, the dispute was about pay and the implementation of CONMESS. The doctors wanted full implementation, while the state offered 60%, and the talks stalled there. When the strike ended, the NMA chairman said the doctors were calling it off in the interest of the patients, acknowledging that ordinary people had suffered. Some reports in 2011 put the number of patient deaths linked to the strike at 29. That figure was disputed, and I have not found enough independent evidence to verify it, so I'm careful not to present it as fact. What is clear is that this was a genuine pay dispute with a real human cost. It was not simply the corruption-fighting story later presented by Obi, but neither can the impact of the strike be brushed aside.
