Rest on Dolly Parton. In as much as I listened to so many country and pop songs back then. It was only Coat of Many Colours, Jolene and Island in the streams I can identify her with.
I have so many other musical legends I can place before her like Madonna, Phil Collins, Elton John, Michael Jackson, ABBA, Boney M, Michael Bolton, MLTR e.t.c.
But reading the comments on this post, I realized she made a serious impact before departing this world.
She has gone to join who I call her musical husband in Kenny Rogers.

They were a long time friends.
And I will wanna bid her farewell with this song though not sang by her.

..I dont like those songs,I prefer Whitney's version of I will always love you to hers,same way I prefer her sing for the common man over Brenda Lees.
Though I was exposed to Madonna's songs,I only liked 4(Frozen,Little Prayer,Isla bonita and don't cry for me Argentina)!....There are others I didn't mention like Jim Reeves,Bryan Adams,Phil Collins,Enya,Yannis,Vangelis,Gregorian,Sarah Brightman,Everly Brothers,Linda Rosandt,Skitter Davis,Peabyo Bryson(he died this year) and lots of OK JAZZ singers and 90s hip-hop like JayZ,NWA,Snoop,DMX,Chantelle,Diddy(though he is insane),R.Kelly.....

Not everyone...I'd prefer God's colouring book over that coat of many colours ...

Her and Jim Reeves where my favorite country music singers while growing up. My dad loved country music and he played it a lot using those old sound systems of the eighties.
Her songs are eternal just like Jim "the gentleman" Reeve's songs.
Rest in peace the immortal Dolly Parton.

Wow! It's ok abeg. No burst my head with memories.
