Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Nigeria’s 2027 presidential elections. He is currently in the news over his recent promise to return fuel subsidy, if elected as the country’s president. While many have dismissed the promise as a desperate political gimmick, others are saying it resonates with ordinary citizens who have borne the brunt of the May 2023 removal of fuel subsidy. He is certainly a seasoned politician, having been in the national limelight for the past 33 years. The table below chronicles Atiku Abubakar’s previous and current attempts to become President of Nigeria: Will his promise to return fuel subsidy be enough for Nigerians to entrust him with the country’s presidency in 2027? Only God knows! SOURCE: https://x.com/NaijaphiliaBlog/status/2093052289502076949

He is a known thief. The removal of subsidy is the best, what is killing Nigeria is that they removed it to steal it. They are all thieves, APC, PDP, NDC etc |

And you all think this man won't "recover" all his money that he has spent during his unsuccessful attempts ?Remember he said he would first thing, sell the NNPC to his Friends if he becomes President ![]() Atiku must be retired Abeg! I am a Northerner. |

Atiku is very desperate and impatient. From SDP to PDP, then to APC, back to PDP and now SDP. And if you observe carefully, he almost ended up destroying each party. He was the one who made PDP useless to date; if not for the political smartness of Tinubu, he would have made APC useless too, even though useless is an understatement for sane Nigerians to describe the APC. The looting that will take place when Atiku eventually becomes the president of Nigeria will be child's play compared to the APC or GEJ PDP. |

This shows how democratic he is. Aspiring to be president is the highest form of patriotism. Abraham Lincoln contested 9 times on ballot before finally succeeding. May Atiku succeed. Subsidy is coming! |

Skydiv:Atiku practically funded the PDP since 1999 and donated the Wadata plaza to the party which still serves as the party's HQ. He also kept Obasanjo afloat and rehabilitated him after his release from prison. Over 20 years after being in power and he is yet to be arraigned for any crime. He has challenged anyone to come forward with any proof of corruption against him. Aspiring to be president is not a crime.

AMINDA:Abe Lincoln contested only twice for presidency and won on both occasions. Though he had lost about 6 to 8 elections, but those were not presidential elections. |

Skydiv:Smartness in bringing Mass suffering to the Nigerian people and debts . 160m poor and 160 trillion in debt . How did Tinibu smartness help Nigeria It only helping seyi , chacoury and other Lagos based mafia which you are not just another data boy |

Educationalserv:You're getting it all wrong, being smart politically doesn't translate to being a good leader. For a man who has controlled Lagos State to date, for a man whose certificate, educational background, even personal info are all questionable, for a man who forfeited over $400k to the US to yet became and remained the president of the most popular black nation on earth with over 200M people, being smart will be deserving as an accolade for him, hate him or not you must give him credits for that. Yes, his policies were ill timed, and poorly implemented, but not all were bad policies. He can't be considered a good leader, but he is definitely a smart politician |

Skydiv:Caveat Nigeria smart = Criminality . We just 0.0 2 percentage of the world so we are inconsequential |

AMINDA:Actually, this is a myth! Abraham Lincoln did NOT contest 9 times before becoming president; he ran for president only once in 1860 and won. Over his entire political career, he appeared on 9 general election ballots for various local and national offices (winning most of them). However, he experienced a few electoral defeats and lost some nominations before reaching the White House, including: * A loss for the state legislature in 1832 * A lost congressional nomination in 1843 * Defeats in U.S. Senate races. Viral internet lists often exaggerate or miscount these political and personal setbacks into wild urban legends. Like we always emphasize, support your political candidate with facts, otherwise you are doing him or her a disservice. |
