They are getting 51% but same FG funds the police and entire federal civil service and other security outfits including the military thereby being the highest employer of labour.

The FG also funds the Judiciary and Prison service from their allocation , fund federal projects that cuts across every state, is building a federal capital with their share from scratch and is funding your federal legislators as well. The FG also funds academic and research institutes with their share.

The FG also offers grants and scholarships to students and researchers with their share.

FG also uses their share to fund federal state, LGA elections conducted by INEC.

Then there are direct subsidies to farmers and grants to small businesses.

What do your governors do with their share ?
What a hogwash of excuses!!
States have security outfits like vigilante, amotekun etc. States have civil service as well as Judiciary, legislature and SIECs. States also have bursaries and grants to students. States have primary, secondary schools and PHCs more than FG as well as tertiary institutions. States have capitals. States gives subsidies to farmers and traders and even engage in transport outfits for air, land and water. States have more kms of roads to build and maintain than the FG
This is the most watery defence of the FG ever. You deserve to be fired for such a shoddy job

When did state Judiciary get scrapped ?

Same Tinubu govt that is pushing for state police and for states to operate their own custodial system is whom you are saying scrapped state Judiciary ?

Are you normal?
Your last question is for you.

Why did you say that the federal government has the judiciary to justify Tinubu’s 53%, as if states don’t have?

Why do you ignore the fact that stated have been collecting lga allocations as well?

If you don't want a federal govt , pls say it now because I want it scrapped as well.

When we scrap the FG , let's see how you will be in Abia and collect 900% of what you generated as VAT from your state from other productive states.

Let's see if the oil in the Niger Delta will be forced from them to fund your moribound states.

Pls, let's agitate for scrapping of the FG.

I am all for it

Lol
You've diverted to tribal baiting so fast
Are ye that empty?
You seem to forget one of the so-called achievements of your god is LGA autonomy this one you're still accusing states of getting LGA allocation
You're also free to call for scraping of states if you feel they are inimical to our development
That you're making excuses for failure of FG while crying about states just shows how corn has twisted your reasoning. Who has access to cbn vault with all the foreign reserves there? States or FG?

The Justice system includes both the Federal Judiciary, NJC, Appeal and Supreme courts , federal investigative and prosecution bodies and the Nigerian Correctional service.

As per the NCC, we know that a vast majority of inmates are being prosecuted (Awaiting Trial) or convicted through the state Judiciary system

So you have a situation that there is a serious backlog of cases which sees to high detention rates and slow prosecution process because Governors are not funding the state Judiciary adequately or expanding them.

State governors are also neglecting their DPP offices which are heavily short staffed.

And so all those inmates end up in federal owned institutions leading to overcrowding

Maybe if the states were responsible for operating detention centres, they would do everything to ensure the prisons are decongested and instead of remand and jail time that will cost the state money to maintain an inmate, they will look into fines, alternative punishment, community service and suspended sentences.

Your state governors have been highly irresponsible to their duties .

The idea that governors and the presidency are looting all the subsidy spending na rhetorics, not reality.

I don't doubt they are looting, I am sure dem dey loot. But just as parasites do not kill the host, so also governors and presidency cannot loot all the money. It would lead to a disaster worse than we are expereincing.

We should be careful how we dey use the word looting.

See this young man supporting increased debt because he wants to fill his tank at 200 naira per liter.

Whether you like it or not, fuel must cost as high as 1300, so that poor nigerians employed by the private refineries can be paid and can make a living, and so that more investment flows in to improve refining in the country, and so that our government refineries would, assuming they get revived, work properly.

This one that you are criticisizing is without sense. Subsidy that you are supporting is why we do not have refineries in NNPC.

Better stop behaving like a lazy data boy, and start thinking. Criticise this APC government with sense abeg.

Atiku is gradually taking the spotlight, and Peter Obi needs to be worried.

2027 might just come down to a vote for or against fuel subsidy.

The ruling party is already jittery. There is too much hardship and suffering in the country.

Tinubu chose the governors over the Nigerian people just because of the desperation for second term. He sees the huge allocations to the governors as a favour granted them and used it as a bargaining chip to get them to decamp to his party. Despite a subsisting supreme court judgement mandating local government autonomy that would have ensured a trickle down effect on the populace, he refused to comply and in exchange, he counts on the governors to deliver him come 2027.

How did Tinubu choose governors over Nigerians, did increased allocations belongs to the state governors or the state government and any governor who didn't use the increased allocations judiciously should be questioned by his people.

The same people who boldly said Tinubu have increased state allocations are now shelving responsibility for the monies they are looting with the executive.

No sense of responsibility, accountability or probity everywhere. Yet the want to continue to hang on. Bunch of criminals.
What has Tinubu done with the Federal Government share of the money? We are yet to see any physical project by his Government.
Re: Non-accountability For Fuel Subsidy Removal Not On Us – Governors by seunjungle1(m): 11:43am On Aug 28
Tinubu should be giving the money for transport to us directly, right?
After the law has given the governors the mandate and constitutional right and money they needed on how to fix transportation issue. Federal government should also be sending another transport token to our individual pocket, right?
No wonder you dey support Obi.

On the contrary, we don't want the money. Let him just bring back the subsidy or Atiku will. Fuel prices affects everything else including food, transport, house rent and many more. No form of palliative will be enough.

The governors will mismanage the money and because they are all in APC, EFCC will do nothing and you will continue to suffer. Remember the governor that is said to have stolen 90 billion, he is in the ruling party and is now contesting for senate. E better make the subsidy return and benefit all man than one man and his family alone to chop 90 B. Vote for ADC

Something that is not equivalent to the money they use to receive during subsidy. You guys are easily deceived.

Compare both allocations converted to dollar.
The allocations some States were earning before the subsidy removal was even more than what they are earning today when u consider the purchasing power of the naira then and the purchasing power of the naira today.

So we can begin paying subsidies for fake fuel imports as done before or endure scarcity as the cheaper fuel is smuggled to the neighbouring West African countries?

It's too early to forget all that we we went through during the subsidy era. It only made a few people rich while the masses suffered. At least, now we have some infrastructure development and savings which benefits all. If the fund allocations are well monitored and we're persistent in ensuring that our leaders stay on course, things will improve sooner than we think.

Remember too that oil politics/economics is a global thing and the impact of decisions and occurences elsewhere resonates on us. Too much government control of market forces will only make our economy unpredictable for businesses and investments.

Nigerians must stop behaving as though they were powerless citizens unable to question those elected to govern them.

Public officials were elected or imposed to serve the people. Hence must therefore be held accountable for their actions and policies.
Here's the playbook named "How to Tame Lions"

- First you capture and encage them

-then make them dependent on you for their sustenance

-carry a big stick

-feed them morsels to keep them barely alive, but not enough to make them strong

-when they're most desperate, dangle a chunky fresh cut of meat, and make them jump through hoops

-that's how you get to be the alpha, and them the docile, mindless, diseased, fragmented rabble forever caged and defeated, fit only for circus shows to entertain your decadent lifestyle

This is the human condition. This is how they use our resources to impoverish us while they grow fat. The desperate ones sell their votes for morsels and scraps.
