A lot of people who even patronize them don't have better alternatives. Even in Areas in Lagos where we got LAWMA + PSP, there are (several) times they fail to show up for several months.

If na you get waste wey dey pile up, and they shows up, you no go grow Sense ?

Most go come online dey yarn like they're any different

Your head dey there.

That's y we keep saying that the issues with Nigeria is poor leadership.

Those ones na any time them like them dey come carry dirty. It's not like there are dump sites where people can bag their dirt and dispose them by themselves. Sometimes, you don't blame the people. Na mumu government wey we get.

Nteogwuija:
The government does nothing or little when it comes to waste collection and disposal.

First off, create dump sites and buy more dirt collection vehicles. Mandate every home or business to always bag their dirt in refuse bags and tie them properly.

Mandate people to dispose their dirt at the provided dump sites at a certain time of the day.

Penalize people who dispose their waste without bagging them.

For people who would prefer to dump their waste in the gutter instead of disposing them properly, they get 5 years in prison.

If the government wants to go deep into waste management, they could introduce a subscription and employ people to do house to house collections.

The problem we have in this country is that majority of the governors are selfish and dumb. They're only interested in building flyovers where they'd get kickbacks.
Our Governors, our local government chairmen don't know their jobs.
They are only there to loot money and secure their family future.

I don't patronize them in anyway. They will come into the street collect your trashes it's either they dump it in the streets or pour them into the gutters drainage at night time.

This needs to stop immediately.

I think this cart pushers operate in areas where the government neglect a lot. If the government accredited waste managers are serious with their duty and always on time to dispose wastes, the streets will not be this messed up in Lagos. In areas where these waste trucks pass once in a blue moon, how do you expect them to dispose their waste? Nobody will listen to this advice if a better alternative is not put in place already.

In my neighborhood on Lerato Avenue, Ijaiye-Ojokoro, they visit twice a year and will still collect the fee before we stop them this year.

Now imagine that. Those wastes left to stink and pollute the air and environment are also a threat to the health of the people in those environment.

Tokunbo should do the needful abeg. The amount of filth littering everywhere in Lagos is alarming.
However, recently, I've seen seeing the Lawma trucks clearing them but a lot still need to be done.
That was after over two months of not coming around... Since then, the wastes are beginning to pile up again, I guess they'll be coming around in the next two months again

Even the one they came around last time, they didn't get to all the areas...I found out they now concentrate on packing the ones placed along the road rather than entering into streets

In the land of the blind the one eyed man is King.......

What a world. Lagos has not been this dirty since the era of before BRF. Refuse collectors have not been doing their jobs for months. All of Lagos, every road every household is affected.

The governor and his commissioners have been incredibly blind to and silent about this.

Rain keeps compounding the issue by washing dirt all over Lagos. And further blocking the drainages.

And yes the waste collectors will still bring their bills as if it's their God given right.

Go outside right now and see overfilled bins in front of houses.

People who are now trying to save their health from rat infestations are now being advised to NOT PATRONISE LOCAL VENDORS.......

PLEASE SEND PICTURES OF REFUSE TO THIS COMMISSIONER SO HE CAN DO HIS JOB!

One thing about Lagos government is rudeness. They always think the hole world revolves around Lagos state. Hence, they mostly behave and talk silly with their moutbs.

The last time I checked, LAWMA went for an unknown and unexplained break for about a month, so in that situation people should swallow their weste bin abi?
