| Do You Support The Law By Lagos Government On Sex Without Consent In Marriage? by ebubeson(op): 10:56am On Sep 02*. Modified: 11:11am On Sep 02 |
Every husband should give consent to their wives before sex, and no husband should force his wife for sex: but there are things to consider in the law by Lagos state government on husbands who force their wives for sex without consent. Things to Consider? (1) Will several women start using this law to weaponize their innocent husbands? To deal with her husband, an angry wife may lie to the court that her husband forced her for sex without her consent, when he didn't. A wife who wants divorce may want to deal with her husband by lying that he forced her for sex without consent. (2) Will there be protection for innocent husbands whom their wives may lie against that they had sex with them without consent? There should be very constitutional protection from the state if so be. (3) What happens to women who may force their husbands for sex when their husbands may be tired, depressed, weak, not in the mood or for whatever reason etc.? Will they be punished same way? (4) What is the real definition of forcing to have sex in marriage? Some women interested in sex may pretend not to be in the mood or do some hard-to-get before sex, is that considered as sex without consent if the man pressures them. To what degree is a force to have sex considered bad? (5) Will this law make men careful or scared in having sex with their wives? (6) Are there tangible cases of husbands forcing their wives to have sex without consent in marriage or are there just very few cases that may not warrant such law and penalty? (7) Is the life-sentencing not too harsh a law for married person who defaults on this? ( What advice do you have for wives who probably pressure or force their husbands a lot to provide certain things for them?(9) Do you support the law by Lagos State government on sex without consent in marriage? I got one or more points from other people's view on this. |

I support the law, but it can be easily weaponized against men with false accusations and that will be catastrophic for the society.. |

It is evil to invade anyone's body without consent, simple! Only animals in human flesh would disagree with that. |

LordIsaac:Men like you have very foolish opinions and are not wise. Sometimes something’s look good at the surface but the consequences for potential abuse makes it a no no. All your troublesome wife needs to do to ruin your life is to lie that you had intercourse with her without her consent and you will be imprisoned for life and she will confiscate all you have worked for and elope with the man that catches her fancy. How on earth can a judge determine if consent was not given when he was not in the room or lives with the couple? So to destroy men a wife can just cry on social media for sympathy and head to a court with a no consent sex story and it would be categorized as rape and the man locked up the rest of his life? We have seen women accuse their husbands of defiling their children because of previous quarrels. A woman who thinks that her husband is having intercouse with her without consent can simply walk out of the marriage to stop such activity. Why you stupidly want to put men’s freedom on the balance of emotional beings like women who can wake up on the wrong side of the bed and start making trouble is beyond me. This evil culture of always pandering to women to appear ‘mature, modern or enlightened’ has led to the gradual fall of the west ranging from the family structure to the general society. Many men just carry beards but reasons like children. No critical reasoning or learning from history at all. |

Séx without consent (in marriage) is alien to the African culture. So long as I marry a woman legally (under customary law in this case), she has definitely consented to having séx with me (whenever I request for it). To say otherwise is not in accordance with common sense. Even a village idiót knows that a man shouldn't force himself on his wife because the best kind of séx is the one in which the woman engages in voluntarily (especially if she wants something from you). So, this needless law is an exercise in futility. In the African setting, even if you offend your wife and she isn't happy with you, she knows very well not to deny you séx lest she'd be digging her own marital grave. Lagos state government should concentrate on making useful legislations that will affect the citizens positively, rather than towing this path of clownishness. Gabbages have littered everywhere, touts are disturbing our peace, landlords are arbitrarily increasing rents, transporters are squeezing life out of us through exorbitant fare, Police have abandoned their duty of protecting lives, hospitals have become a death trap, Lagos state schools are using outdated curriculum, among other myriads of problems bedeviling this state. Rather than find a pragmatic solution, the Lagos state government is embarking on "clownish endeavour". Anyways, this is what you get when you keep voting in the same set of rogues into power. Ijoba APC ti ba Eko je patapata! #Picks_tooth |
