Osun Tribunal Receives APC, PDP Petitions Against Adeleke’s Re-election by InfoGuru118(op): 12:14pm On Sep 07
The re-election of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is now being challenged at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal after the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) filed separate petitions.

The two petitions were displayed on the notice board of the tribunal secretariat in Osogbo on Monday, officially beginning the legal process over the August 15 governorship election.

The development came after the Secretary of the tribunal, Pefe Belemore, confirmed that petitions had been filed to challenge the outcome of the election.

The legal action could lead to a detailed review of the conduct and results of the election as the tribunal begins proceedings on the cases.

Belemore had earlier told Very Nigerian that the necessary notices would be displayed on the tribunal’s notice board before noon on Monday.

At the opening of the tribunal earlier in the day, Belemore was in the courtroom alongside other officials of the secretariat as preparations were made for the commencement of proceedings.

The APC and PDP are challenging the outcome of the election, which returned Adeleke for another term in office.

The display of the petitions is expected to pave the way for the service of processes on the parties and subsequent proceedings before the tribunal.

The APC’s petition, marked EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026, was filed by its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, against Adeleke, the Accord Party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The PDP’s petition, marked EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, was filed by Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola against Adeleke, INEC and the Accord Party.

The tribunal should just throw away the petitions. Sore losers, after deploying N100 billion, they are still crying after losing by over 60,900 votes.

Tinubu will be defeated by nothing less than 3.5m votes come 2027.

They know they might not win but it is a calculated attempt to keep party members from defecting. Many party members would like to see the end before jumping ship and thus would help them win some seats in the upcoming election

It is just a ploy to keep their party members together and discourage them from defecting. They know they have no case. It is a strategic move!

Re: Osun Tribunal Receives APC, PDP Petitions Against Adeleke’s Re-election by AMINDA: 2:59pm On Sep 07
Tinubu is putting pressure on Adeleke to ensure that he does not renege on his promise, but this is beyond Adeleke. Tinubu is not popular in the streets of Osun. The people just don't want him. There is very little Adeleke can do.

It has now become a routine for our politicians to go to court, even when they have no case.

This is not true. The APC candidate Oyebamiji on Thursday congratulated the Gov.

All the APC leaders have congratulated the Gov, so where's this one coming from?

I guess it's Oyetola that's behind this.

Why did APC/Ambo congratulate Adekeke, when they know they are still going to court?

I guess tyrant in Aso rock changed his tactics from the day of election to his own Court, having realized tension on the of election might escalate beyond what he imagine.

Stop polluting Nigeria's judiciary with unnecessary election petitions.
The electorate determine who to lead them, not the judiciary.

A president who boasts of 30 state governors is very panicky.
The petition is to keep him in support of PBAT in presidential election. It's like a pressure piled on gov Adeleke to ensure that his state supports Tinubu next presidential election.

The coast is clear for the people of Osun State to consolidate their resolve by voting for anyone other than Tinubu and his evil party. Bad losers any day.

The President should just release the Local Government fund being withheld for the development of the State.
