A young lady has shown how she travelled from Lagos to Benin Republic with just ₦6,000.

She took a bike from Mile 2 to Badagry for ₦2,000, then another ₦1,500 from Badagry to Seme Border, and finally paid ₦2,500 to travel from Seme Border into Benin Republic. The total cost came to exactly ₦6,000.

In the video, she can be seen on the back of a motorbike, wearing a helmet and filming the journey. She showed the Nigerian side of the road, the underpasses, the border area with people waiting, and the noticeable change after crossing into Benin Republic. She also showed the CFA notes she received after exchanging her money.

The journey was presented as a simple and inexpensive way to travel overland, showing that the trip does not necessarily have to cost a fortune when using motorcycles and shared rides along the route.

However, the video has also raised questions about whether this method of crossing the border is legal. Some people who have used the same route explained that it is a common practice among Nigerians studying in Benin Republic.

Cotonou has insane hustle prospects. Just make certain you have proper accommodation arrangements and some extra money to take care of your feeding for at least a month.

There's absolutely no way you'll be in Cotonou for thirty days without finding something worthwhile to do, as an efficient hustler🤝.

From choba Bridge we wave car to warri, trek to sapele Road, wave car to Benin.

2000naira can't take only U on a bike to badagry except U are 3. All those areas na where we don run deals. Our borders are so porous that even criminals can pass without any alert. We are working with the government to see how it can go, Asin getting criminals down when they use such routes. The festua guy caught recently is cuz he wanted to use flight.. lol big man wey no get OT. Except U use bus. Kolewerk

Sounds good. I'll love to visit Benin Republic and other neighboring African countries someday. It's the stress and unpredictable nature of the border crossing that puts me off.

Benin republic is a cool place to be.... though poorer, their standards of living is higher than what obtains here.

The only drawback is the French and local language.

I want to believe that the journey was made before "subsidy is gone" because that 2k won't take you on bike more than okoko.

Well, 5k will take you to Cotonou; from mile 2 to badagry roundabout is 2k, if you enter car from roundabout to seme is between 800 to 1k while bike is 1500. Then you will walk towards crossing, you will initially pay 200 naira to someone at the barricade and another 500 to someone else when you enter (maybe immigration or health people sha), then you walk to meet Benin immigration officer and also pay 200 or 500. That's all

If you go with your passport and as first timer, you will have a lot to deal with because both border officials are f**king corrupt. They're ready to milk you dry except you have orientation before going and street wise.
