Some years back I saw about 5 of them in festac barefooted, I went to the closest supermarket market and bought slippers for each of them and gave dem 500naira each. 1 hrs later wen I passed d area again they were all barefooted.

There are some unkempt guys at Ketu bus stop,they are mostly Yoruba guys.
They are all over Lagos but the problem is that they will still come back.
The Igbos among them might not be so lucky.
All Nigerian tribes have miscreants strewn all over Lagos.

It was,actually one-child policy from 1979 to 2016, then became two-child from 2016 to 2021.
But today same China is begging women to have more children and they have refused. The women are used to having one child.
Next thing is to mandate a woman must have at least three children or go to.jail!

U want them to look kept so that nobody will give them money?

Parents should be more accountable.

This begging thing is not so popular in other African countries.

Though there is a difference between these beggers( including children/ teens) and miscreants (who fend for themselves eg acting as street porters for people etc) but at night these homeless miscreants can be dangerous. The children beggars sometimes grow up to become these dangerous miscreants.

There was a time in Mile 2 Lagos when those Niger beggars were numerous.... Though they integrated well into the society speaking several Nigerian languages, hawking stuffs and some marrying Nigerians.

I am a bonafide son of Lagos , I'm not from Osun or Ondo. I am Lagos and Lagos is Me.

I am more Lagos than you so recognize.

Poverty is now a crime, as it should be.

Fine!... round up the strays ... the nuisance .. the eyesores .. pack them in the Black Maria's ... and then what? Where are they taken to? ... what happens to them there? .. what eventually happens to them?.. don't care? We need to be very concerned about these operations and demand transparency. Why is the Child Protection Agency silent on this? What if .. and it is verrry possible ... these vulnerable people are rounded up and used for organ harvesting? .. who will know? ... who will care? Is it when our own children or siblings be picked up and disappear we will be concerned? ... do we think we can stop the machine then? Something to chew on.
