Our Local league is so poor.
Little wonder millions of Nigerian fans have abandoned it for EPL & other foreign leagues.
Any idea about WHO will do the work of making OUR own league rich and better?

Mixed fortunes for Nigerian teams in continental competitions

CAF Champions League

Enugu Rangers 2 - 2 Sobemap FC (Rangers Qualify on penalties 5-4)

Rivers United 3 - 3 San Pedro (Rivers United crash out on away goals)

Confederations Cup

El Kanemi 3 - 1 UDIB (aggregate)

Shooting Stars 1 - 2 CS Sfaxien (aggregate)

All the best in the next round Rangers and Elka
Re: NPFL Discussion Thread by lordprogress: 9:08pm On Sep 13
i dont think we even deserve 2 spot in the caf champions league, it should be 1 considering yearly poor outing by our teams.

Nawa o.

I tried to fine El Kanemi results but I couldn't find it.
El kanami lost 1-0 but they will qualify 3-1 on aggregrate.
they will be facing Raja Casablanca in the next round.

Who owns the government that controls the NFF?

Is it the people, from among whom a few are allowed to emerge into public office to serve? Or is it just the government itself?

We are not in a question & answer session.
You asked me a question, & I was polite enough to answer you.

If you think my answer is deficient, then enlighten me & other members of the forum.
Perhaps we may all learn a thing or two from you.
The enlightenment is right there in the rhetoric questions to ponder upon and own the results of the introspection well enough, to share further.
Re: NPFL Discussion Thread by guobe: 10:23pm On Sep 13
The major problem of Nigerian local league is funding and it boils down to the economy of Nigeria presently as almost all sectors are currently struggling to survive.
The best brains in Nigeria nolonger want to stay in Nigeria including you if given the opportunity.
Our next door neighbour Benin Republic have a better currency than the naira talkless of the South African rand
Re: NPFL Discussion Thread by guobe: 10:25pm On Sep 13
Most local league players in Nigeria shine in one season and the next season they are off to Ethiopia or even Sudan and Tanzania as they get a better pay over there

Re: NPFL Discussion Thread by guobe:
The Nigerian politicians have made Nigeria currently unhabitable as someone presently earning 500,000 naira can barely survive with it.
It is absolutely madness for the naira to exchange for 1,500 naira to a dollar.
Your counterpart abroad will send just 1,000 pounds home and it will be exchanging for over 2 million naira.
Our leaders have failed us in all ramifications and they should be ashamed of themselves.
As big as Nigeria, they only have about one or two approved CAF stadium.
Oil rich Rivers state don't have a standard CAF stadium.

Why are you saying untrue things?

Inter Lagos 0, Sporting Lagos 3. Today's fixture result.

Do your investigation properly. Away teams do win too.
Re: NPFL Discussion Thread by TheStoriesOfMan: 10:51pm On Sep 13
If say person find one club going into administration, it's to buy the club at dirt cheap prices using crowdfunding.

Investors will be serious because they know the worth of the club after some years.

Imagine buying one cheap club for ₦10 million, buying only skillful players whom we can export to Europe and make some cool profit to reinvest back into the club.

The club can be worth ₦50 million within 2 years.

This is my opinion.

What i said is the norm in 99% of the matches so in a 1% chance it happens doesn't make a difference and that is why bookmakers don't feel safe betting on it because it is predictable matches.

San Pedro now leading 2 nil in Uyo 🤦🏽‍♀️

I think it's safe to say it's the end of the road for Rivers United sad
I wasted my money to go to Godswill Akpabio stadium to cheer Rivers United to victory.
Low and behold,I didn't know Rivers United paraded the most average players among the big teams in the NPFL.
Dominique, you need to see the kind of cheep goals they scored Rivers, expecially the 2nd goal.
Defender standing and watching the San Pedro guy with the ball outside the edge of 18 yard box,the goalkeeper who ran out suddenly tries to run back to his post and the guy unleashed a powerful shot that beats the unsettled keeper into the net.
I was shouting on top of my voice in the stadium, like what fvken kindergarten display is this?
But not for the two penalties Ref awarded us,the match would have ended 0:2.
Nigeria teams are not yet at par with their counterparts in other African countries even the smallest African countries in terms of club football.
We are below average.
I went back home highly disappointed.

Finidi George na big okpe
As if you knew, the man no be am at all for coaching.
My money I spent to travel to Godswill Akpabio stadium to watch him and his Lads really pained me at the end of the day.
Your team was trailing by a goal to 2 going into the 2nd half, you then substitute your two good attacking players playing 7 and 9 for you and brought in defensive midfielders.
To do what exactly?
In a match that you need winning?
There one small boy with jersey no 7 running the right flanks, the boy post a serious threats to the San Pedro defence till they couldn't go out and join the attack again as they did in the 1st half.
Guess what?
It is that same boy that Finidi George substituted to bring in a defensive minded midfielder.
Come see how all of us fans were shouting at Finidi. He didn't even mind us.
As soon as he substituted that 7 and 9,the tempo of the game became low, attacking threats ceases and the opponents have a breathing space and came out to attack us again and almost got a 3rd goal.
But not for the referee that manage to award us 2 penalties that we converted,it would have ended in a 0:2 lose.
